Ok so if both seats are running at full blast constantly (assume it's so cold that the heater can never reach its target temperature) it is about 100W of power. Not accounting for losses you could run the seat heater for more than an entire month straight on full blast on a fully charged battery.

In reality this math doesn't work because the rest of the car uses more energy than the seat heater just idling and honestly the seat heater would reach temperature and start operating on a duty cycle which would reduce energy use.

It also isn't a fire hazard. There is a temperature sensor in the seat that can detect the temperature and adjust as necessary. That's how they do multiple levels of heating too. Even if left on full blast for hours I truly doubt it would catch the seat on fire. Not to mention the material is not highly flammable. The only time I have ever seen seat heaters cause any type of burning is when the wire is broken and a high resistance connection is made. This can cause arcing which can cause a burn in the seat though an actual fire is extremely rare, especially in modern cars like the mach E which are designed to detect this fault and disable the heater immediately.

Note: This is how all ford vehicles have operated the seat heater for around a decade. It also makes it so the seat can pre warm upon remote start - a feature I LOVE.
Unlike other vehicles these are smart cars powered by downloadable software. You can freely preheat all the seats in anticipation of a full load. When the car is started and no one is sitting in the seat, turn off the heater, along with the airbag as it currently does. It is one line of code. So it becomes priority based on customer feedback. If customers don't have a method to provide and consolidate feedback, then the engineers will work on the fun stuff. Trust me, I've been there.

For the record the driver seat doesn't have any sensor to recognize if there is someone sitting in it. That is assumed based on the car being on. The passenger seat does but it is for the airbag system.

Also personally I'd prefer it turn on when no one is sitting in it so the seat is warm(er) when I sit in it. Why would I want the seat to be cold then wait for it to warm up? This is a fantastic feature in my opinion.

Also my 2008 mercury sable I could change "one line of code" to change the temperature of the seat heaters so not sure how thats any different than today. Ford's been doing it a very similar way for a looooong time.

The feedback like I said is read here. Great way to provide it.

That being the case, I'd go directly to Ford and complain about the dealer. I also ordered online through Ford, which required assigning a dealer so I selected the dealer. Fortunately my dealer has been honest, respected the price and supported both me and the MME. Easy for me to say, I know. You have to interact with your dealer even if you complain. Can be difficult.
I reached out to the salesman that sold me the car. He suggested I go to Ford.com and use the Contact Us tab or go through Fordpass. I found no facility on Fordpass to send feedback.

“You can freely preheat all the seats in anticipation of a full load.”
Japanese toilet makers have had this feature for years!

They’ve been paying a lot of attention to you. They just don’t like you. You’re lucky they haven’t snuck over to glue your frunk shut.
Ok, now I’ll stop joking and be serious - there are a lot of people on here singing the praises of heat pumps (which are useless in extremely cold temps). Many EV makers have foregone a frunk, either out of engineering laziness, or because that space is a convenient space to toss in things like heat pumps. My fear is that Ford is hearing people loud and clear who say “we never use the frunk.” “The frunk is stupid.” “I used the frunk once or twice then forgot about it.”, coupled with “Oh my God, Elon musk is a GENIUS - who would have ever thought you could use a Heat pump to heat the batteries and the cabin!” “KIA has a heat pump! We MUST have a heat pump!” “Heat pumps have been proven to be the most efficient heating source ever developed by man!” (Ok, I’m getting a bit hyperbolic here, but you get the drift.) So, based on that “user feedback, I fear Ford will do a “quick a dirty” mid-cycle update and throw a heat pump into the frunk. Clearly, it’s not as much of a priority for them as getting NBC programming on the Sync screen is.

So, to answer my question, the recommended method to give feedback is to open a chat session at https://www.ford.com/help/contact/?gnav=header-support#chat or send regular mail to
Ford Motor Company Customer Relationship Center
P.O. Box 6248
Dearborn, MI 48126

If you open a chat session tell them you want to provide feedback.

I'm not sure anything would happen but at least they would have my list of issues, and yours if you send them. Today I have 5 issues/requests.

I use the "Submit Feedback" option in the settings in the vehicle. On my '21 you can select different categories or "Other" and it sends the complaint and logs to Ford. On my '23 with the new UI you record a voice message of the problem. I use it heavily :)

Send a tweet. They have replied to me multiple times.
Also the Fordpass app has a chat feature that is supposed to be for the app technology but they will put you in touch with a tech person for the vehicle as well.
