The real problem isn't the tax credit or lack there of, it's the fact that EV's cost too much. It's up to the manufacturers to figure out how cost will be reduced and make more affordable to consumers.

What did you order - MSRP less D&D ?Yes, I am. When I ordered in August there was no guarantee of a tax anything. Given I am in NY and not rich, I fully expect to get screwed out of anything the federal government would offer. I keep seeing people posting, the car isn't worth it, I guess my argument would be, no car is ever worth it, it is worth less the 2nd day you own it. I want the EV experience, hate Tesla, and like the Ford style. Are EVs too expensive yes, I guess that is the early adopted fee? I also buy an iPhone too early, have a smart home, and pay too much for TVs. I work hard and like to have nice things.
The only thing that would really prevent me from moving forward is if the delivery is delayed again, and I start to lose real money on my trade-in. It should be here in 10-14 days and I am really looking forward to it.
I ordered the Premium AWD, I am not getting any special pricing, this is a new 23 order. What did you order - MSRP less D&D ?
Are you getting the PCO ?
I agree with you - hate the Tesla style and love the Ford EV designs.
Very early adopter - going head first into my first full BEV: early adopter '22 F150 Lightning without even test driving it, most expensive vehicle purchase, and it was a stunning good EV truck.
Now that I have had it for 6 months, it doesn't fit my driving habits and commute so I am selling her and replacing with my '23 MME, arriving next week.
If it wasn't for the $6K PCO and $7500 tax credit, I would not get the '23 MME and continue with the Lightning.
Your deal has nothing to do with the cutoff - it's 100% based on the MSRP, less destination. Irrelevant what you paid. After the info was released, I decided to let my unscheduled 2023 Premium AWD go. The MSRP was just under $60k.
The dealer I ordered it from had a 2022, same package on the lot. Worked out a deal $1500 over MSRP, which left the price under the $55k rebate cutoff. Picking it up soon.
I am glad you agree with me.Your deal has nothing to do with the cutoff - it's 100% based on the MSRP, less destination. Irrelevant what you paid.
You definitely can in a BMW i4 RWD, Model 3 LR, Lucid Air, Model S. But in warm weather and they are all sedan shaped.I also don't think you can get 300 mile plus range in any EV competition now
Ok true enough but the ix is 100k, so I should emphasize 300 mile range in the low 60k price is hard to findYou definitely can in a BMW i4 RWD, Model 3 LR, Lucid Air, Model S. But in warm weather and they are all sedan shaped.
For 300+ miles in an SUV form... it's basically the BMW iX or Lyriq - with massive 100+ kWh packs.
