I have (as YOU know..) a Dec 22nd build date and my car is still in Mexico. I am due $6,500 PCO. My GUESS is that the PCO will be LOWERED to adjust to the 2022 pricing we were promised.
I HOPE that I will be getting the full $6,500 off the new price. Doubtful.
However, now that MY MSRP will be below $55,000 (it's a Prem AWD SR) , I'm thinking of having one of my kids buy the car so that I/we can get the $7,500. (I am income limited out)
Until this morning, only a lease made sense.. Now I will reconsider a buy.
I'm still probably 2 month away from the car being delivered at this point, so plenty of time for the dust to settle..
That would be a bad move for Ford to cut the PCO because of the new lower pricing.

Doesn't Ford dealers get the full credit on the PCO as it is a certificate being redeemed ?

Why can't the dealer give you the new price AND PCO ??

If yours is already built, then it's about a month or 6 weeks for delivery - which is what you probably want because in March, the IRS will be ruling on the battery mineral/sourcing rules and cut the tax credit.....

I was just reading Ford is going to give the difference back to 23 owners, so everyone gets the new price, even retro. GM did the same with the Bolt last summer, dropped the price but then went back to the beginning of the year to make buyers whole.

Would be a nice gesture to do this to treat your customers as humans vs. a number. We know Tesla didn't do this at all (and there are tons of upset people) and some folks lost $20k if they bought in early December. Do you have a link of them actually stating this?

This will definitely be a diffentiator IMO.

Glad to see they didn’t keep their heads in the sand.
LOL to all the people that said this wouldn’t happen soon.

what sucks is the small price reduction on the select AWD I have on order. those price cuts are not logical for the selects vs. the other trims. They think selects will sell in any case because they are under the $55K threshold.
the smaller reductions for the selects makes sense because less options = less margin to work with for price cuts... and the selects can get the tax credit.

Rollover orders are a weird situation. In theory the rollover private offer already made us whole compared to these new “lower” prices.

I Hope rollovers can get the double dip but I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s an out for Ford.

Ford has an entire diversified arsenal of hybrid and ICE vehicles to offer. Tesla has all its eggs in one basket and has pissed off a larger number of existing owners with their price cuts than Ford has.

Tesla also has an erratic CEO that's been revealed to be a bit of a dickbag in regards to his treatment of Twitter employees. Their stock heights revolved a lot about expectations of him, and he's certainly done his part to destroy the myth of his boundless genius.
a broad product range is kind of a disadvantage... it dilutes R&D, mfg, and supply chain leverage. That is a key reason why Ford decided to drop cars in 2017.

See, this is all BS, should be the same % price reduction across the board, if indeed raising the price was costs/inlfation related, that's when they did when they raised the prices from '22 to '23.
Can't say that it makes sense for a select AWD to be cheaper by ~1.3% while the top of the line is ~8.4% cheaper.

It’s basic business. They can’t afford an 8% on the lowest margin trim. They can on the expensive trim because the margin allows it.

It makes sense in a sense that the Select is essentially the same machine as the Premium, less the panoramic roof.

Can't believe they had the CR1 at 64k,that was WAAY too much for what you get. New price seems on the high end, but rather fair.
The CR1 does seem like an outlier. I'm guessing Ford will kill that model soon/eventually and the high price is because they don't really want to make it. We'll see :)

I drove by Kearny Pearson Ford yesterday here in San Diego looked like they had 3 Lightning on the lot. However looking at their site these are a Lariat trim and Platinum trims. but looks like they have them on a $20k mark up.
...$20K markup... shesh the car industry can not get rid of dealers and go direct fast enough.

The Select is a absolute bargain with the tax credit just like the ID4 with the tax credit. In my mind, those EVs are the best bang for most people’s bucks.

Just imagine if Hyundai and Kia decided to jump into the EV price wars. Things would get crazy.
HAve to agree. I was able to pick up a Select AWD with confort package for about the average price of a new car (~36K) post Federal and state credits and rebates. Plenty fast and comfortable. Mustang has always been a bang for buck car.

Good for Ford. Potentially bad for me.

I just bought a Grabber Blue GT for $71K on Thursday. I've already reached out to the dealership to see what they'll do for me. We'll see.....

My Tesla fanboy friend is already taunting me that this is a desperate move of a dying company because he claims Ford doesn’t have the margins to support such massive price cuts 🙄
Tesla indeed had more margins to cut than Ford, but "desperate dying company" is hilarious.
