Thanks! Yeah, I should go to HRB, but my TT is done except the damn form. Do we expect refund delays like last year?
Hopefully no delays. I was ready to submit day 1, but nope! I’m still working on an amendment from last year, for EV charging station.

Is that buying the web version, or the physical software version?
I believe its the physical dvd. I found out about after buying the download on amazon.
(which also had a $10 credit within the app). I think TT is doing that everywhere....

I was being sarcastic. Majority of delays were paper returns.
oh ok! Mine was electronic, filed 2 Feb 22, took 4 months for refund.

Ugh for the first time in... decades? Our online filing was rejected multiple times so had to send the paper return. It took a looong time to resolve.

Yeah, guessing short staffed. It should be automated.

About 13 million individual taxpayers filed paper returns. Because of paper processing delays, refunds for these taxpayers were delayed, generally by six months or longer. Millions of e-filed individual returns were "suspended" because they tripped IRS processing filters and required manual review by IRS employees before refunds could be released. Hundreds of thousands of business returns claiming the Employee Retention Tax Credit were delayed.

Cases involving suspected identity theft account for about half the inventory of suspended returns. In mid-December, the IRS reported 2.9 million identity theft cases in its inventory. While some will turn out to be fraudulent claims, the IRS website as of January 9 states: "[D]ue to extenuating circumstances caused by the pandemic, our identity theft inventories have increased and on average it is taking about 360 days to resolve identity theft cases."

Thanks! Hoping for less delay this year. You are a plethora of information.

I dont trust this turbo tax stuff with this. anyone worried that turbo tax will give you a credit you dont qualify for because it does not know the little rules and then the government will want their check back.
I trust TurboTax more than myself. It is their job to know the rules. If you enter the correct data it will calculate the correct credit/tax.

Basically everybody qualifies for 2022 for a Ford purchase. You just have to owe greater than 7500 in taxes to get the full benefit. Next year will be quite a bit more complex. So yes I trust Turbo Tax to get it correct.

Yep.

FYI for those in VA, there's a problem with a state form that is being fixed by TurboTax. You can file separately, or wait until the errors are fixed, then file both Federal and State.
