Tried to get into my GT today, 100% dead. Had to leave it at home to get to work. Checking the Pass App and same error Electrical System Drain. I will jump it when I get home but obviously something is wrong again with an update. I can’t remember the update I had but it was a 4.something. Back to the dealer I go again.

Was it charging? I'm curious if 4.1.2 introduced bugs in the power management or recovering from a charge fault. Let us know if the dealer finds anything - mine didn't, and it's run fine since then.

Mine was charging or on the charger yes. Same issue when it said charge fault, I had to unplug it, leave it for two hours and the service now went away and the car updated. I am hoping for the same issue when I get home tonight.

So it will only turn on with a "jump" start. Onto the dealership it goes. It prob means we are back to the software update killing and draining the 12V. I have only owned the car for 10 months and the next 24hr period the car is with the dealer, which is highly likely longer, will make it a total of 3 months in 10 that the dealership has had the car in days. Interesting.

That snowballed quickly after dropping it off.

Dealer was great. Called me back after 2 days to say that the 12V is dead and bad again. They just replaced that one 30 days ago (I don't think it's been that long). So 4th 12V battery in and they are having issues with it. It won't charge and only drains. So asked to keep the car for more days, so we are again without the car for a week. Not sure at this point what else we try a 5th battery? Ford is already working with them. I think it's bad wiring with this car in particular since the sensors couldn't tell you that sensors were bad in previous rounds with the car. It can't be all software.

So Ford told the dealer to call me and have my "custom app connecting" to the Mach E deleted and only use Ford Pass App. This is what is draining the battery. I said ok but I don't have a custom app and we don't have battery drain, we have battery death. Today the car cannot accept any software updates, the dealer has tried 5 times. Ford engineering asked them to wait till tomorrow for a new re-write of the update that should work in the car tomorrow. I don't even know how to answer this anymore. I asked Ford not to make the dealer jump through bogus hoops like the "custom app" that never existed, but we are on the 5th 12V now.

It can't be the battery. Something else is fubar'd. Honestly at this point they should just allow you to replace the car.

You haven’t, by chance, authorized a 3rd party (such as your utility) to access you car’s data? There have been other threads on here of that killing 12V batteries due to their constant pinging of the car for data.

No one at all. And if it was just a drain I would say lets look at all apps, but the 12V's are going completely bad, no chance of recharge. This latest one was only 30 days old. Thank you for making sure on ideas with this deal, great to have other minds to jog anything that can be messing with it.

Just trying to explore possibilities. I hope you get it resolved.

Me too. I LOVE the car, I just want to have it more than 70% of the time. I went through every app on my phone and ipad just in case too after you posted this and nothing is connected to anything with the car except for Ford Pass App. And the car is on my level 2 each night, so even if pinging it shouldn't bring down that battery right. So I am lost.

I'm with you. I would take another with the hopes the bugs are worked out. I did ask Ford for the possibility and they haven't answered.

All software updates are finally done on the car, the dealer said the battery is testing properly.....but it threw more codes now. The antenna is now bad for GPS, etc. So the part is a week out and ordered but replacing it makes a repaint now and you guessed it back to the dealer again for how long. Something is wrong with this wiring on this car, something is deeply wrong. And yes giving Ford updates.

If they don't replace your car for this then they're doing it wrong.
