The puddle lights only work when the mirrors are folded? I would think that would be the other way around.

Puddle Lamps
The puddle lamps turn on when you
approach your vehicle with a remote
control or phone. If your vehicle has
auto-folding mirrors, the puddle lamps are
only on if the mirrors are folded and turn
off when the mirrors unfold.

The mirrors are folded until you turn the car on. Also, when turning it off the mirrors fold in and the puddle lights comes on to exit.

Are Tables of Contents ever in alphabetical order? Are you sure you're not thinking of an index?

In the Escape you have to start the engine and let it run to reset the battery saver death timer, which is a waste of fuel (and just plain annoying).

Wow, that's surprising. In my Edge, I simply need to press the Engine On button. I don't need to actually start the engine.

That's how it works in our Explorer. If the doors are locked I don't have to click the fob to open. Just walk up to the car with the fob in my pocket, pull on the door handle and it opens, passively without me interacting with the fob. If I read correctly the Mach-E will work the same. Just have the fob or PAAK on me and press the button on the B Pillar.

If my 2016 Focus ST has that feature, I'd really hope the vastly-superior Mach E has it as well. I love just tapping the door handle to lock or unlock.

I bet that button was removed from the fob when they decided they were going to launch with all electronic release options for the frunk disabled.

The Mach-E takes this a step further. You don't have to tap anything. Just walk up to the car with your phone or fob and the car automatically unlocks. Walk away and it automatically locks.

That would be way better -- just press the button again to extend the timer longer. Ours are 2013's so maybe they've improved it since then.

I am assuming they do fold when you lock the car as in some of the pictures on here (and youtube) from the various roadshows it looks as if people have tried to unlock the doors with no success but the mirrors look as if the are folded

I asked about mirror fold on locked during the roadshows was told it would be an on / off option that you can set. As with everything take it with a pre-production vehicle disclaimer pinch of salt

I was thinking the same thing after I posted but looking at the bold titles it "looks" more like an index and I was trying to find "Charging". Maybe I just have not looked at an actual book in years

That to me just describes auto turn on when approaching so if the mirrors are folded and you get near with your phone or push the remote open, the lamps will switch on as the mirrors unfold and then switch off when the mirror is unfolded. Once unfolded I would expect the puddle lamps will then just work as normal and turn on when the door is opened.
