I just received the new Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra this week to replace my Galaxy Note 10+. When getting it set up for PaaK in FordPass for my MME and for my F-150 Lightning, I received a pop up message in the app noting that there is "Limited Support for this device" and that PaaK will still function, but that Ford is still working to optimize the experience. I was able to get PaaK set up just fine for my MME and I have to admit that, even in its apparently hampered state, I am finding that PaaK is working better than it ever has in the nearly 2 years that I have had my MME. Maybe it is more the new phone hardware than anything else, but my phone now connects to my MME as I am approaching it and very rarely requires that I wait more than 1-2 seconds for it to connect when I get to the door. I am not able to find any differences in the app itself between the new phone and my old phone, so I am not sure what the limited support is supposed to be... unless the limited support means that I am only able to connect PaaK on one of my two Ford EVs, as I have not been able to get the PaaK setup to complete in my Lightning.

Interesting. I just ordered the S23+. It will be here early March. I don't remember if Sammy upgraded the BT version or not (I've got an S22 now). I know the 23 series has the latest and greatest including Qualcomm's latest chip. Might be connection processing is better or better radios or both.

I still don't fully trust PaaK ?. I only use my phone to open the frunk as I approach with groceries. I still carry a FOB with me.

I got that message with my Pixel 7 as well. Not sure what it meant, but I was having other issues and deleted all the PaaK stuff and never set it back up.

I have almost exclusively used PaaK the past (almost) 2 years, even when PaaK was at its worst. My wife carries one of our fobs with her because she lacks patience dealing with occasionally waiting for PaaK to unlock the MME. I don't mind waiting 10 seconds sometimes for PaaK to connect if it means less stuff in my pockets and knowing that I could always use the door code to get in and the backup code to start the car has kept me comfortable with PaaK. But, PaaK is connecting a heck of a lot faster now with the Galaxy 23+ than it ever has, so I am pretty pleased at this point. Now, if only I could get it working with my Lightning. The Lightning has been awesome with PaaK since I got it, but sadly lacks walk-away lock functionality.

Who knows, your old phone might have had a defective Bluetooth antenna or something. But we know that PAAK performance varies widely among phones since they are all different. Getting a new phone will probably change how well it works for you, for better or worse.

Had this message come up when iPhone 13 came out and it worked fine as well, it's just them not knowing the new version of the phone.

Just setting up my new S23+, and Fordpass has been "loading" for 20 minutes. Great.

Have always gotten that message for my S21 when setting up PAAK using @dtbaker61 method:

https://www.macheforum.com/site/thr...on-android-to-enable-a-backup-startcode.4544/

...which is the only method that ever works for myPAAK install.

To my knowledge, the “limited" never limits me at all. Just installed again today...same message, no ramifications.
I will contradict my own posting as PAAK was booted from my phone for second day in a row

Is anyone else having better luck clearing battery optimization in their Samsungs?

on my s23 the limited support message I read made me think the buttons on the app like push to start might be the issue. I have only ever used unlock or lock and I know they work but take several attempts to push the button correctly

I went the same path as the OP:
- started with Samsung 10 - which worked with PAAK - after a few FP upgrades
- Moved to Samsung 23+ and received the "Limited Function" warning

I proceeded with the FP install and the battery optimization suggestions, because, you know, I've learned to take FordPass messages with a grain of salt.

After I was able to get it all set up (I think it may have been more of a PITA to set up, but its been 2 years since the first set up) I haven't noticed and real operational changes - not better or worse.

Maybe FP functioning as expected is temporary or a sign of learned low expectations.
