Housekeepers have to eat too.
Curious, what features that worked before this "power up" are not working or working poorly now?

I am pleasantly surprised by Fords OTA game, old company but I am up to at least 20 updates in 1 year, solid.
I’m not. There are people whose cars haven’t had an update since December and earlier and are being told their cars are not slated for updates in the near future. The MME software is still diverging instead of converging.

I could use some fresh towels...

In all seriousness, also wondering like Lee if the Owner's Manual is back

I have no idea how they keep track of what's out there and what's coming next with their current setup.

Being a support rep must really suck since you'd have to check what car, what issue it's having, what module that is, what version of the module the user has... Only to end up recommending hold vol down + skip track until it reboots and pray it goes away.

It's funny, I work in software, a few different companies, same issue everywhere, forked code, need to get all customers to a standard release schedule and interval, oh no we need a hot fix, fork again, wait, different hardware, fork again.

At least Ford isn't getting bought every 4 years and shaken up each time like the rest of software.

Based on previous updates like this, these are most likely just a re-release of the last round of updates with some minor changes. Possibly to get 2023 cars the Camera button as well.

4.1.1 = 4.2.1
4.1.2 = 4.2.2

Guess we'll see if we get a 4.2.3 as well
Exactly. I just got 4.2.1 yesterday but then when I read this description of 4.2.2, I thought to myself “hey wait - I already have all this crap.”
Now, if they’d get around to getting the frunk release pushed out!

I got this today as well. I think the key item is in the first paragraph of the release announcement, which is very close (if not identical) to the wording that was in the 4.2.1 release a couple of days ago. It seems to me that Ford is doing a bunch of "hotfixes" to certain areas of the code without really introducing any new features. Overall, this is a good strategy -- stabilize the base so that you can introduce new features with less risk. I will do my screen scrapes of Bezel Diagnostics tomorrow to see what changed.

Correct. 2021 job 1 car here, last update was in September last year (DC fast charging), before that it was 2.7.3. Nothing new ever since, bit disappointing. On a positive note, car still drives great.
