The fam and I drove to Disney yesterday from St. Pete for our preview of the new TRON ride (which was awesome). Anyways, part of the ride is you have to put your stuff in a locker (this is the first ride at all of WDW that requires this). You put your stuff in the locker, swipe your band and then when you exit you swipe your band again and retrieve your stuff from the opposite side cause it’s a two-sided locker. I emptied my pockets into the locker, which included my Key fob, which I take with me whenever we go on longer trips.

Anyways, I guess I forgot to grab the key fob and I walked around all day not realizing I didn’t have it until we got back to the parking lot at 7pm. Oh crap. Started freaking out because we’ll be going to the other side of the state next month and I’d want to bring the fob with us just in case

Thankfully this car has PAAK!

If it didn’t I would have been absolutely screwed and would have had to leave the car overnight or I actually don’t know what would have happened. I filed a report with Disney lost and found and got an email on the way home (which took 4 hours, which is another story) that they had found it and are mailing it to me.
I guess the moral of the story is that even if you don’t intend to use it, SET UP PAAK.

(it works flawlessly most of the time for me, so really shouldn’t be a reason not to set it up now)

What!?? Disney requires a locker now? Oh boy.. that's a bummer. (I'm so jealous. I was there last month watching the coaster go on test loops enviously)

As a side note, I rely solely on Paak these days. It's a bit slow on my phone(takes 5-15 seconds after pushing the door button to unlock) but it works very reliably. Between Paak, Samsung pay, and Utah's new digital driver's license I can now leave the house with nothing but my phone. Kind of amazing!

Recently added my BF's iphone 14 Paak and was shocked to find that it works almost like a fob. WAY faster than my 3 year old galaxy s20+

Yeah, there’s actually a cubby spot on the Tron bike to put your phone, so you can take that on if you want, but anything bigger you gotta put in locker. It’s free though and a cool system.

PAAK is pretty solid now. My biggest worry and why I bring the fob on long trips is if something wrong happens with the car and I gotta get it towed, then no one has a way to get in to it.

I did the opposite thing sort of. Yesterday I left to go out of town and I normally carry the keyfob with me when I go out of town. Well, I didn't even remember to bring the keyfob with me so I'm currently out of town without it. Oh well...?

^^^^That's the only reason why I bring my fob on out of town trips.

That's valid, I tend to take my fob on road trips as well just in case

PAAK is also required in order to set the backup start code. No reason to not do it all, even if you’re a confirmed fob carrier as many are.

I use the PAAK exclusively. You can always hide a fob in a Faraday bag in your car somewhere if you need a fob for a tow or something unexpected on long trips.

I have PAAK but my phone has almost died on me at times so I have used the door code and backup start code which is genius! Not having to have phone or key is such a great option.

I always try to have both with me...because I just KNOW ME. Yesterday at work I freaked out because after gathering up my purse, backpack, etc., I had left my phone in the car!! I went tearing out of the building so fast. Free MME anyone??

When my car finally arrives in June (a guess - hands together, praying, hoping I didn't jinx anything), I plan on carrying the fob, but I will definitely set up PAAK, just in case. I was on the fence with all the stories about it not functioning properly or inconsistently, but I think this one convinced me to do it.
