Foamy residue on garage floor

I have had the MME since October 2700 miles. I noticed white foamy residue under where the car is parked. Has anyone seen that before? Could it be a battery leak?

That looks like concrete efflorescence. I don't think it's from your MME.

You are in Walnut Creek, just over the east bay hills from where I was raised, so you probably don't experience road salt, freezing and thawing. Looks just like the normal freezing and thawing type of salts we experience in the midwest. But then again, that area has received a lot of water so the moisture could be pulling some salts up through the concrete, especially where cracked.

Drive up on ramps to look underneath at the battery. Use a moist cloth to wipe dirt from the underside of the battery. See if there is any leaking.

Agreed. The fact that it's near expansion lines/cracks in the concrete, and given how saturated our NorCal ground is, I'd be pretty darn sure that's what it is. (FWIW, the water leak alarm in our garage went off this morning - not from surface water, but rather from ground water coming up the water main and just enough of it being on the floor to set off the sensor.)

The fact that it is by the cracks in the floor does make something like that likely.

I see the same thing in my garage (North SF bay area, TONS of rain), but it's just around the cracks as well. And my wife's SUV was parked in there once when I saw it. It's a sign that the drought is over

Hey! I'm a Bay Area ex-pat, too! 30 years on the tundra up here! Nice to see and hear that the ground is finally gaining some moisture. It's been so long that people out there are forgetting what efflorescence is!

I'm not concerned. The rain water has a lot to do with it.

Shorelines of Ocean Beach remind of this residue.

Definitely concrete efflorescence lime/calcium leeching. It is the concrete/moisture not the car.

Road salt dripping off your car might be destroying your concrete.

I suggest washing your garage floor.
