Well, it's Ford that provides the software and sells us the license to use it, so I guess they're okay with it.
I would think that the license is provide for non-dealer repair shops, don't think they had the intention of selling it to owners of the vehicles but that what heck do I know.

This morning i got 4 updates for the DCM(E,F,G and H)
So back to flashing again...
Yeah, WTH is that about...can't they figure out how the doors work?

If I leave them alone do you think they'll release another version in two weeks?

So there's more after the ones that were just released or is this just a delayed release for @Arjan's country?

EDIT, i just looked. There's more. ?

Yeah that's why I said that...they showed up in my list this morning too. Unbelievable carry on.

My question for the door engineers..."At long last..have you no shame?"

Maybe it's a rollback, just like the last door updates.
Well some cars I've checked this morning that don't have the updates pending in their lists are all running"-AH" revs.

So yeah. It's entirely possible that we're flopping back to "-AH" for what...the second time or third time in a year?

This is the experience they would like for you to have, even without sending them your VIN and having them look into it from their side and contact your dealer ?.

The license terms say it's for an individual and are not set up to just be for a motorcraft certified repair shop.

I’m going to let someone else be the tester this time to see what the version comes back as after updating ?

If you did the door updates a few days ago there is no need to do this one. Without going into details the update that was released last week will become available AGAIN shortly.

I asked ChatGPT4 about this situation and here’s what came back:

“If a major car manufacturer repeatedly sends out software updates for modules on one of its models and then reverts them back to a previous revision, it is likely that there is an issue with the software update itself. The software updates may be causing unintended consequences or issues with the module's performance or compatibility with other systems within the car.

The manufacturer may be attempting to fix the issue by sending out new software updates, but if those updates are not successful or cause further issues, they may choose to revert to a previous version of the software. This could also indicate that the manufacturer is still trying to determine the root cause of the issue and is experimenting with different software revisions to see which one resolves the problem.

In any case, it is important for the manufacturer to communicate clearly with customers about the issue and the steps they are taking to resolve it. Customers should also be made aware of any potential safety concerns related to the software issue and advised on how to proceed until a fix is available.”
