It’s not surprising, and Ford should be embarrassed by this. GTPE gets smoked by almost every performance rated crossover EV SUV on the market. Please name one that can’t beat it in the quarter mile.

What an absolute disgrace. To be fair they ran it in unbridled extend mode, and it does say pretty clearly that it limits top end performance. But to be even more fair, Ford shouldn’t have released a “GT” that only has “GT” power for 5 seconds, or needs to be in some special handicap mode to use consistently.

Being a KIA Customer over the last decade prior to my MME it does not surprise me. From a build quality perspective; I always got a good bang for my buck. Now watching the Drag Race; I see the Koreans have done a top notch job on the electric motor as well.

Yes, the MME was the best looking vehicle, but that is subjective. The 0-60 times or quantifiable.

As a side note, I've seen multiple reviewers state the KIA is plenty Luxurious enough and no need to go for the extra $ on the Genesis.

**Can't wait to see the Dodge Charger EV (or what ever they call it) in this race soon!!! I love the rebirth of MOPAR in the EV World.

Yep! My wifes new tesla y awd long range cost $50000 after tax credit and smokes the GTPE in the quarter at 12.2. But the GTPE is a red lite to red lite killer.

Except all the performance crossover SUVs that beat it so bad came out 3 years after the Mach-E GT. That’s like being embarrassed a 2014 mustang GT (4.8, 13.2) is slower than a 2017 Camaro SS (4.0, 12.3) ??‍♂

With the exception of Tesla because they generally design for performance targets 5-10 years past competition so they can extend the relevance of their products and they are really good at it!

Disappointing and unsurprising.

That said, I think the Mach-E is by far the best looking. I heard someone say the EV6 looks like a cockroach once and now every time I see one that's what I think. The GV60 is somehow more hideous...IMO it looks like Marvin the androgynous robot from Hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy:

The BMW....well that goes without saying. Everyone says the front looks like beaver teeth, but to me it looks like a giant butt print...which is an appropriate summation of the car's styling IMO.

It's a slow news day. No surprise the 5 second limit kills the car.

What I find interesting about the article is how they claim that the five second limit is actually a "boost mode". I'm wondering if this is how Ford plans on spinning this into a benefit rather than a limit.

Here's the article:

https://www.autoevolution.com/news/...r-then-drags-bmw-x4-m-competition-214960.html

Here's the video:

C'mon..you know better than most people that this is being viewed as a 'feature' and not something that's in any way a 'negative attribute' that needs to be addressed. It isn't going to get 'fixed' cause nobody up there thinks anything's broke.

And I'm saying this as somebody who's about to trade my '21J1 Prem ER in on a new mannequin GT PE. I am accepting that what I'm going to end up with has certain limitations and should never ever try to outrun an EV6 GT. I guess I can live with that.

But based on the video above, both the KIA and Genesis beats the GTPE off the line too.

Regarding your the MY LR, you should buy the acceleration boost, well worth the 2k.

So sad that the MME has been overtaken so quickly. But it still looks the best.

It's not just the 5 secs. The GTPE lost from the start. It never had a chance. Sad indeed. At least it achieved 0-60 in 3.6 seconds.

Yeah but they have done this against other vehicles that came out about the same time and the results are the same. Sure the MME is quicker than some, like the ID4, Prius and Chevy's offerings, but those are family oriented vehicles that aren't marketed as performance vehicles. I think we most of us here agree that the "Mustang GT" label implies performance (heck, it's in the PE name), and yes we've hashed this over 1000000 times, but these publications keep shitting on us and Ford does nothing.

Take a look at this truck, which came out at the same time, kicking the MachE's ass: https://www.macheforum.com/site/threads/gtpe-vs-rivian-r1t-drag-race.16075/
