Ford has all deliveries on hold. Anyone know why?

Something is going on

. My Mach-E traveled past my city (Houston TX) to Kansas City Mo. I'm not a shipping expert but that is either a mistake or something is going on with the car. When I asked my dealer why they said they didn't know and hadn't seen this happen before. I'm almost to the point of zero trust in the car. Ford forgets the way they treat customers builds or degrades trust in the product. FRUSTRATION

Maybe they did extra to get you yours, because of the delays you've dealt with? Skipped the usual train stuff and just threw it on a truck to go more directly? Doing so isn't cheap, so they can't do that for everyone, but I can see having the occasional string to pull to expedite special cases.

That's what I am thinking too!

No way it went from Mexico, thru Texas, then to KC, MO and then back to California in 2 weeks.

They must have hot-shot the MME with a car carrier truck ?
Or maybe via ship from Mexico to Port Hueneme.

That’s what the shipping time is. What was different is yours did not have the usual wait in KC, Kansas. Because of the “issue” with your first build, your car was on a priority shipment.

Back in the day, my 2021 took a week to KC, a week to San Diego on BNSF and a week to Hilo on Pasha. It sat for 6 weeks in San Diego waiting for the boat and about 2 weeks in KC.

No there’s nothing wrong with your car, that’s how they’re supposed to go. Kansas City Southern Railroad delivers all the cars to their ramp in KC. From there they’re moved via truck to other local yards and then shipped on another railroad to a central location closer to destination. Some vehicles destined for nearby locations are loaded onto trucks and shipped to the dealer from there. I’d say it’s the same as airlines, hub and spoke with very little point to point, but it’s the other way around — airlines got the idea from railroads.

Because Ford is bad at dates.

If your dealer is telling you that they’ve never seen an MME go through Kansas City, there’s a good chance they’ve never looked.

Your complaint was the train not offloading your car in Houston. I explained that.

As for changed delivery dates, welcome to the club. Mine changed 3 times. Changed dates are virtually always due to logistics issues post Kansas City, and mostly due to a shortage of truck drivers.

Pat! They put you on the fast track because of your vey public situation They put your car at the front of the line at every stage of delivery. That has to be it. I’m guessing you’re not going to complain about that.

Maybs...but mostly because Tesla, like Apple, has a ton of Fan Boys & Girls who never say anything bad about Uncle Elon. Tesla has *plenty* of customer service issues, like the guy who's steering wheel fell off *while driving*. Got no love from Tesla until it went very public. Then they magically cared.

My experience has been different...

Yup, that's my ordered MME that derailed.

At least Ford really stepped on the "gas" and got a replacement shipped from Mexico to California in a record 2 weeks!

That is amazingly fast considering my Lightning from MI to CA took 3 weeks!
