Has anyone on recent chip hold moved to built?

I was hoping that someone might have been pulled back in (maybe because Ford used this non building time to finish up what they started).
Time isn’t what they are short, it’s parts to build the cars. They’ve been building cars without chips now for quite some time, and likely have an established process for popping them in once available. The shutdown could also be related to chips but I would bet not, that there was some other unavailable but critical component(s) that wouldn’t let them build vehicles.

Feels like the lottery. My intial hypothesis was that the following factors drive it:
- Configuration (eg blue cruise vs not)
- Proximity to revenue recognition (locations with shorter delivery times)
- EV States (require X% of volume to be EV?)
- Order date
- Dealer allocation (this one is the mystery meat in the bunch with the least transparency)

It seems like something is missing. Maybe they are using a Ouija board? Dart board? LOL.
Ford CEO has been open about shifting parts to those vehicles that are most profitable. I suspect based on what I’ve been seeing in the forums this means GT/GTPE are getting a higher allocation amongst the MME trims, and as others have noted EV states a greater allocation vs typical non-EV states since each EV sales allows more profitable gas guzzling and very profitable trucks and large SUV’s.

12/10 build here and many of us from that week received letters last Friday night that our cars are finally built. Many also received letters this past Sunday that our cars are being shipped.

looks like they used last week when plant was shut down to complete some cars waiting in their lots.

MME GT PE and my production was the February 14th, then 21st, then 28th and now March 7th. Not sure if it the chip shortage but I suspect it is the cause of my sliding production date. I just hope March 7th holds.

Possibly true, I look at the inventory search around me for 2022s and see only GTs listed.

Most are dealer ordered from the Ford inventory website. That means my SR non-AWD will probably never show up. :)

I basically see 2022 Selects when I do an inventory search for 500 miles. Mostly Select, 1 Premium,

Wow, that's the opposite of me. I raised my search to 500 miles and all were GTs, no Rt 1/Premiums/Selects at all.

Maybe it's regional based and they sent GTs to the West coast and Selects to the East coast.

Talked to my dealer today. He indicated that Ford had a meeting with them that indicated the current delays are being caused by a two week shutdown of a key chip supplier in Asia during the height of Omicron. He said that Ford currently has around 40,000 units built that are waiting on chips. Some only need 1 chip and some need several. Ford took the downtime over the past few weeks so they could use those chips to retrofit the already built units. He also indicated that Ford knows that the 3 month bump we saw on our ETAs will most likely not be correct. He indicated that Ford committed to update that ETA as chips become available and vehicles are retrofitted. In short, as long as there are no more disruptions then dealers should see shipments hitting mid March to April.

He also confirmed that the last day to order a Premium or California R1 will be the 22nd.

I was hoping the "time off" at the factory might give F time to finish at least some of what they started, but I haven't read of anyone who has actually advanced in the build process. Figured I'd just ask and see if it's happened yet (and therefore given me a little hope).
Mine was on chip hold from 12/6 production date and was built 2/11 and shipped over the weekend. Seems like the “down” week last week they built quite of few from what I have read from others

Nice is that build week for 21 or 22 models?

I’m in CA. 1/17 build, GTPE, no BC or pano, Rapid Red. Still showing an eta of 6/18.
I'm in the same boat here in CA, with almost the same config (except non-PE GT)
