One of the problems with survey creation is asking the right question. For example, I'm in favor of skydiving, as long as you land unhurt. But, if my last experience with skydiving was breaking a leg, and now you say "do you love skydiving?", my answer is No. But you didn't tie that to "since you broke your leg, do you like skydiving?"

PaaK as it exists today is unreliable. Either FordPass gets updated and it doesn't work, or a module in the car gets updated and it doesn't work. Therefore, TODAY, I wouldn't pay a dime for it, nor care if it was gone.

Also, if you have more than one vehicle, PaaK only works on whichever is selected in FordPass. Seems to always be the other vehicle. #FirstWorldProblems

I have yet to have a single problem with PAAK. I hope it does not go away...or become a subscription service because I would not pay for it.

Reliance on Bluetooth and an internet connection is stoopid (LOL).
Bluetooth has improved with newer versions, but has never been the easy, effortless, standard that it was originally touted as.

NFC, on the other hand...

Once Ford got their server side authentication junk in gear, PaaK was flawless on my iPhone X. It still works great on my iPhone 13 Pro. If they discontinue it, I will be sad. I might have to go to Dearborn and lift my leg. ??

I’ll send the cat. The cat does not approve of taking things away. The cat is skeptical. Besides, they don’t call the paws “murder mits” without reason.

This should be fun.

My thoughts on this:
1. Reliability of PaaK is a two way street; meaning that the phone interacting with the vehicle is as likely a candidate of failure as the other. It seems that most comments on this forum are pre-disposed to rag on Ford exclusively for all issues related to reliability. That is a fallacy.
2. It would seem that the motivation to develop and deploy this feature should have greater inertia to continue it rather than to wind it down. If the latter is moved by an incessant support drain then I could see a justification, but would view a move like this negatively from my personal perspective.
3. I view PaaK as an arrow in quiver of alternatives. Much like the multiple ways to access and drive the vehicle: Door sill code/Console start code vs. Key Fob (or PaaK). I prefer to have a handful of choices to interact with the vehicle for a variety of reasons.

That said, I'd be very much against a subscription model for this feature that I've already paid for and which should theoretically consume no "network resourses" when running over Bluetooth.

I agree with point 2 and 3. However disagree on point 1. If tesla can implement a reliable "PAAK" ford should be able to. They have to deal with multiple type of phones too, but they seem to handle that fine.

Some people on here would be happy for it to go away as they like to remind everyone it never works and you clearly have to be an idiot to be using it
Never worked, never missed!

"how would you feel if PaaK was discontinued" - umm....dude, its one of the factors I required when I bought the car. Why do I think 24s will have no PaaK, then by Feb it will be added back!
I have no interest in using Paak, curious why it was a mandatory option for you.

I hate having to carry a key when my phone that I already carry can do the job. For the last 15 years I have always left my key fob in the door pocket of my car, I cant stand carrying keys. Also the functionality of remote monitoring and access is very handy. And I should have said a requirement for a car of this caliber. If I wanted something without the tech I would have bought another Bolt.

You're probably right. Either way, "what the Hell has he been doing?"
Working on changing those icons at the top of your screen to something that 'makes perfect sense'.

Tesla may have gotten PaaK right by having far more compute power and antennas in places that make sense from the beginning.

I told them I wouldn't care if they got rid of PAAK, but that I would purchase another car with it (mostly because I don't expect new cars will come without it). I just wouldn't use it. I would be annoyed if they got rid of fobs, though. Those are far more reliable.

Those of you that like PAAK, do you have an attached garage?

In my experience with both my Mach-E and, previously, Rivian r1t walking near the garage was waking up the car over and over. This seemed like an unnecessary waste of energy and generally bugged me enough that I exclusively use a fob.

It also annoyed me that there was a persistent notification on my phone that PaaK was active, which also made me feel like it was probably wasting my phone battery too. In the case of Rivian it definitely was. I didn't leave it activated long enough with the Mach-E to find out.

All that said, it wouldn't 'make me happy' if they removed it. I just don't use it cause it seems too inelegant.
