I can not get this update to save my life. I have tried at least 20 times (literally!!). I have tried leaving the car on for 3 hours in the garage, charged up, after being driven, out in the open, in a garage, changed the update schedule, turned off the schedule, etc. Called Ford, they said it is showing low battery. Does that mean that I have a 12v that needs to be replaced? Or I just don't drive enough? I only drive like 50 miles a week on average. I only work 3 days a week and only am 5 miles from work, and a few around town trips, so that's basically it. I got it in Oct and now am at 1600 miles.

I was going to attempt to leave it on all day in the garage...maybe 6 hrs? I'm not sure what to do... I am not one that has access to charge the 12v. So it's try everything at home, or go to dealer....which is always a pain, since this is my only car.

Any suggestions?

12V chargers are pretty cheap. Maybe get one and leave the car in the garage on a charger? ?‍♂?

Just a clarification question. You left the car on for 3 hours. While the car was still on you hit the 'Update Now' button on the sync software update screen. Turned the car off as directed, got the 120 seconds countdown timer. Exited the vehicle, kept the key fob/PaaK away from the car while it tried to update. All this and the update still failed to install?

Yep, exactly.

That is why drilled ports thru the frunk panel at the 12V charger clip points makes sense. Every service on FDRS and the procedure is to rip off two huge panels with the panel clips just a flying and the cover getting bent and destroyed ?‍♂ I am thinking the techs don't like the procedure either. Hope they use my ports from now on.

Any recommendations on a 12v charger?
MIn 15-20 amp agm charger/maintainer. Higher the ampere the better. You can read reviews.

I had a problem something like that on the old UI. I could see the conductivity settings but all was locked. Have you rebooted? I heard pulling fuse 11 (TCU) on the passenger front floor fuse box is a reset? For me it was a quick fix at the dealers (couple of months later once I got in). I had no wireless carplay as wi-fi projection was off and locked.

Now it is fixed I would not say I have wireless carplay but it does connect once in a while. Hardwired connects quick and works well. That's my work around.

I did do the TCU breaker reset and sync reset. No change

I’m having the same problem. Is there an easy way to check the status of my 12v battery to see if that’s my problem?

I called Ford. They just told me that it's showing low battery. I left the car on 6hrs. Had to jump back in at the 30min mark to hit ok, to extend it, then it was good to go all day. Tried it, and it installed. Finally! I'm glad I didn't have to take it to the dealer! What a pain.
