Yikes. They can't be happy about a 20% drop in MME sales year-over-year.

GM sales are all Bolt so they have one more good quarter unless they change their minds. Mexico production has started for the Blazer so maybe they can get it ramped up. Ford needs to get the CCS to NACS adapter out soon.

Sales numbers are again disappointing .. wonder how the international sales are .. Ford really needs to get the full tax credit back for the MME

" Ford will continue to improve the BlueCruise experience for its customers and deliver it through over-the-air updates. "

Is that an official statement? Hope for BC 1.2 to 2021's?
If not official, everything does point in the direction of BC 1.2 going to all vehicles. They raised the price of BC. They extended the 2021 BC free trial dates. It's still a 1.x version and not a 2.x. BC would flop significantly if they abandoned the 2021's. Based on their sales numbers, it'd be in their best interest to get it rolled out to everyone. And if they really don't put it in 2021s then Ford is a terrible EV company if they couldn't even roadmap 2 years before a vehicle became obsolete for a major feature.

Unfortunately just going by numbers here, the Mach E days are going to be numbered soon it seems like, especially the way Ford is going about it.

The Mach E might change in the next generation but not in this one. Remember that Ultium isn't a true 800v platform like the Hyundai group's EGMP platform. Ultium is a pair of stacked 400v batteries that discharge in parallel and charge in series. That makes them act like 400v in operation and 800v in charging. You will also see from Tom Moloughney's videos that GM has yet to figure out how to deliver steady, reproducible, fast charging with that setup.
Yes and if I’m not mistaken they only flip to 800v charging on their larger packs. Believe this doesn’t happen on the Lyriq which is roughly the same pack size as MachE

13,000+ monthly production is a huge leap forward. That puts the Mach-E at just over 150,000-per-year run rate. A far cry from Tesla's global Model Y production numbers, which are now running over 1,000,000/year. But still impressive. And, given that it is Ford's first dedicated EV, it makes sense to scale up over time. I have to assume the next-gen Mach-E will embrace lots of lessons around production and energy efficiency that the first generation has taught.

I went to Ford Fairfield over the weekend for my 10K maintenance. I saw about 30 Mach-E's parked on the lot and their website shows they're offering 1K off. I wonder what Ford's next move is

Clearly people want EVs, they just happen to start with a T and are priced lower and starts with a B, Ford will get there, too much doom and gloom here. Farley seems equipped to handle this, my biggest problem is the Lightning pricing which is nutso, but I’m sure that will be figured out as well. I mean, they have to…

Right. Some sort of promotion with the Lightning could be the ace in the hole for Ford. The MME is really a good car. All the ADM nonsense really hurts its adoption me thinks. At the entry level, with the partial credit, the pricing isn't awful. But I think we'll need to see what Ford comes up with in 2025. In the meantime, some significant software improvements could go a long way with existing models. Though, I suspect, the software experience is held back in part by Ford's choice of processor. If you are going to make a giant touch screen the primary method of interacting with the car, by God, give it a powerful CPU ?.

As for GM. How's that "we're gonna overtake Tesla" working out for you? ?

While availability might not be an issue in some regions, it remains so in many. There is still pretty much no more than a single loaded GT on the lot at every dealer around my area (near Pittsburgh) and i've been trying to get my hands on an AWD ER premium for months within a reasonable distance. Finally had a dealer put my name on one that they had previously ordered early in the year but which has apparently has been stuck somewhere in transit now for a long time. Shipping these things to some areas seems to be EXTRAORDINARILY slow, even for dealers who have ordered larger #'s at once.

There are plenty of folks like me who want to but but can't, and many surely do move on to settle for a Tesla that they can get right away. If Ford could get these shipped and on lots at a reasonable pace to most areas, they'd probably be selling a lot more.

I ordered a standard range (lfp) premium the day the order banks reopened on May 3 and my car is scheduled to be produced the week of August 21. My dealer indicated there were delays with Ford obtaining the parts needed to make the standard range LFP batteries.

I would add dealer inventory is still quite limited in our area (south central PA) so I’m glad I put my custom order in.
