If you read up on the battery cells themselves, you'll find the current rating is limited by the battery's capabilities and is present in all trims --- The algo driving it that is. My personal experience from the ability to spin the front wheels is that more could be done for the driver to de-rate the front motor. Ford's just not interested in allowing owners to tailor their vehicles to their desires though.

I've been trying to get the HVBJB to fail, given temps of late, perhaps it's time to really spend the time trying to get it to fail. I don't call the car my beater for laughs, I beat on it like it owes me money.

I've had zero issues with my premium so far and I'll never need more than 5 seconds of full throttle.
One should adjust the hatch height on day one so that it won't hit the garage door.

This is the car equivalent of victim blaming.

Ford has an issue where the hatch opens on it's own, without any user interaction, jeopardizing the contents of the vehicle and potentially damaging it or the garage so you blame him for not setting the hatch height?

It has nothing to do with hatch height. It has everything to do with Ford.

@scoopman great video and I think we both have similar reasons for parting ways with the vehicle. Constant dealership shenanigans, reliability and worry about it's impeding next issue is just not fun.

You have helped many other people flashing their MachE's, making instructional videos and contributing significant time to aid others around here. It's when people like yourself, who are genuinely kind and wanting the best for the car, decide to part ways that should open people's eyes. Thanks for all you've done over the years. Hope you enjoy the new car!

Sorry that it had to come to that Andy. I hope your new car treats you better. Give me a call or a text some time and we can have some doughnuts and coffee ( and I can make your wife mad at me for sugaring-up your kids). ??

The Mach E is a hot mess. I will pass final judgement on mine after it gets all of the updates at the dealer next week.

Awwww, sorry to see you go, @scoopman; however, I get why. I don't post much, but I wanted to thank you for your flashing video. It helped me immensely when I borrowed a mongoose from another owner. I look forward to seeing what you you think of the new car :)

OK get rid of your car!
Situation solved.
I paid 55K for a car and expected more from Ford. As I stated, I'll reserve final judgement after the dealer updates all of the modules.
Otherwise, don't be an ass.

Great job summarizing the major quality and engineering flaws with the Mach-E Andy. I totally agree with you on all points. It was Ford's first attempt at a major EV, they did great with the looks but made some major oversights with the chassis tuning and battery/powertrain engineering. Sorry to see you go, but I understand your frustrations with the dealership service experience, and inability to solve issues to provide complete peace of mind in the ownership experience.

Will be curious to see what you have to say about the new ride and how it compares.

Nice video. I'm very glad I wasn't an early adopter. I was hoping to hold out for the Chevy Blazer EV, but fell in love with the 2023 Mach-E when I test drove it. That and 2023 is the first year for the Blazer.

I was an early adopter and haven't had these issues....it's all anecdotal, enjoy what you want. Glad Andy found a car he's more comfortable with, appreciate his contributions to this forum.
