Frunk Button in FordPass YAY! My Job 1 Mach-E is Complete!!!!

hmm I got the 23-PUO110-RAD-PAS pushed last evening as well... but Ford Pass has not changed... Still no Frunk button. ... what a disappointment.

It’s only coincidence that some people’s FP apps have the button now. The OTA to the car has nothing to do with the change in profiles on the login servers. They’re probably going through batches of VINs. Hang tough. It’ll come. ??

I am still surprised they removed the inhibit code for the @Jimrpa account. ??

Yeah, I don't think we have any idea if this change has a connection to any car-side update whatsoever. If it was associated with an OTA update, one would think Ford would have also enabled the button on the center screen.

This has nothing to do with any of the OTA updates. Make sure you’ve had the previously described module updates done in FDRS

Ah yes, I'm FDRS regular, so everything was last updated in July. However, I now understand that this is a backend server change independent of the OTA. I'm sure I'm in queue and the Ford Pass change will eventually come around.

A power frunk like the lightning would be awesome. I use the Frunk sll the time. Grocery shopping today for example. Using the lever is just the way it is.

Yes I understand some use it a lot but since you need to lift it and slam it shut manually the release is only a small part of the answer but does get them over the safety regulations hurdle.

I get sent to pick up groceries once every 2 weeks and we use reusable grocery exchange boxes with express pickup. 4 boxes fit in the trunk 0 fit in the frunk. I find the frunk is just too small for a lot of my stuff. If I don't want the smell I throw a tote (diesel) or a cooler (take out) in the back. Wiper fluid, ford charger and a 12V charger are the main things in my frunk. It is great to see people getting it but not a must here.

Slam is a bit of an overstatement IMO, but there's an entire thread or 97 on that. Almost as many as the "I got the wrong battery" threads.

I slam it in a quick motion with two hands release 6 to 12" before contact like any other hood I have owned. Have not been following the 97 treads but how many ways can you close a hood? lowering it until it clicks and then pushing on it may dent it and releasing it with no contact shut has always been preferred? Yep I slam it

I adjusted the two rubber bumpers by about 3/4’s if a turn iirc. I rarely need more than a firm flip of wrist from about 18 inches or do. YMMV.

Job 1 here. Got the 23-PU0110-RAD-PS update overnight. Lo and behold, the frunk button showed up in Fordpass today. Maybe a happy coincidence, but it seems they are related. Android phone, no Fordpass update recently.

I have not had the updates done to add the button on the Sync screen, but I did notice the door code worked to open the frunk earlier this year. Not sure if that came via one of the OTA's or I got it during one of the dealers failed attempts to do 21G01 late last year or early this year.

In any event, I can confirm the frunk button in Fordpass works! Likely won't ever get it on my Sync screen, but nice to be able to open it remotely via Fordpass now.

Just installed the 23-PU0110-RAD-PS update, which showed up when I put my car in park after driving home from the airport. Following the update I found the frunk button displayed in FP. I used FP to start the car in the airport parking garage, and to open the liftgate as I walked up to the car. The frunk button was not present. So whether this update actually installs some code to enable the FP frunk button or this is just when Ford has decided to flip the server switch, it sure seems to be related based on multiple posts here and my personal experience. ?‍

Yeah, so you need to have the module software on the car first, and wait for the next OTA (doesn't matter what OTA) to update your server config so it shows up.
