I bet the aerodynamics are pretty good with them though. They need good aero on the wheels because the car is raised, reducing overall aero efficiency, and the CC2 tires have high rolling resistance. Unless they are special CC2 tires, developed just for MME use.

The wheels are the rally wheels style from back in the day, they just have been updated a bit to be more flat sided.

It is not the first time a Ford have used this style on a production car, as it was the wheel used on the on the escort cosworth monte special edition. This was back when Ford sold you a true homologation rally special with the option to could go raid the 909 parts bin , rather than a cosmetic make over version that we get now
