What would you like to see in the future?

Hey there everyone, just wanted to create this thread to see what everyone would like to see from the Mach E in the future, from both hardware and software changes. Me personally I would like to see the following:

Hardware Changes
- Heat Pump
- Faster DC Charging
- New Battery Architecture that increases range and also makes the car lighter.
- L3 Driving Hardware
- Front ventilated seats and rear heated seats
- Faster internal hardware for the SYNC 4A system.

Software Changes
- Overall a way smoother and snappier interface.
- A refreshed instrument cluster similar to the one found in the f150 lightning.
- Some of the apps, such as Charge Assist, Charging, etc. need a refreshed UI
- More entertainment apps, such as Spotify, Netflix, Disney+, etc.
- A new FordPass app with more individual controls on the car, such as adjusting individual climate control setting when away from the car.

Just heat pump, somewhere near the rated range would be nice which heat pump may contribute towards but everything else is fine.

The entire display needs to be revised - for safety sakes. As it is now, I see this:

1. LOTS of blank, used space on the upper section. And icons that are disabled while driving!!! (Really, I have to tell Ford that!?)

2. Every function/button we use is on the bottom of the screen. This creates a SIGNIFICANT safety hazard, as you’re always looking down. That takes a 1/2 second to adjust your eyes.(that’s 44 feet at 60 mph, just to adjust your vision!).

3. The increased functions of the only knob was an improvement - however the revised interaction of the heated seats allows you to simply click and not move your hands.
4. The center console driving screen needs new layout as well. When holding your hands at ‘11 and 1 o’clock, most info is not visible. We don’t need to see an icon of a car with spacing info. We need speed rate and the current speed limit. Maybe battery info, cabin temp.

Solution:

1. Flip the layout. We need to keep our eyes up - not down.

2. Put more icons in the middle and upper areas by making the icons smaller. Ford can do this by utilizing the blank/black space.

…and I won’t even get into the Navigation screen….but Ford should look at what their competitors are doing on navigation.

I'd rather have a lot of the controls be buttons and knobs with haptic feedback that i can use by feel without looking at them at all, as opposed to the giant iPad.

Larger sideview mirrors.

I agree with the ventilated seats; don't really care about the rear seats as they are so rarely used.

Frunk button on key fob.

Lose the distracting moving wave display in whisper mode, and consistently place the information provided on the dash in the same place for every mode.

Hard copy users manual.

The ability to select the actual temperature for pre-conditioning would be nice.

Re-positioning the headlight switch so it is out of range of my knee would be good.

Delete the requirement for a 12VDC battery.

Pucks installed on the lift points as stock items on delivery, along with appropriate warning labelling.

A more cheaper, more stripped down version would be good as well. This car comes with a lot of features i will never use (phone as key, Bluecruise, entertainment applications come to mind).

A better Navigation system that plans trips using realistic speeds and does not override your FordPass trip plans. Assuming drivers drive at 65 mph when the speed limit is 70 mph is unrealistic. Especially when many drivers tend to drive faster than the speed limit on the open road.

Oh wow! Yet another wish list thread! ? Here are mine:
1. Ventilated seats
2. Heated (and ventilated) rear seats.
3. Reclining rear seats (seriously Ford, just lift them from the Escape already)
4. Auto-dimming exterior mirrors
5. Power frunk like the F150, with hands-free opening.
6. Auto-park/park out, from outside the vehicle, like Hyundai.
7. Full interior accent lighting (including the rear of the passenger compartment), as shown in the original 2021 marketing materials.
8. Full adjustable power seats, including fore and aft tilt.
9. HUD to supplement the IP.
10. Better 12V battery maintenance.
11. Ability to “pull” power-ups that are GA
12. Illuminated front pony for non-GTs (I’d be happy with a dealer-installed accessory from Ford Parts).
13. 120V AC outlet in the passenger cabin
14. Separately-controllable rear climate.
15. HomeKit integration
16. Faster graphics and interactive rendering b response (it’s pretty snappy, but could be a bit better)

I would like to see actual instantaneous KW going in and out of battery displayed .. similar to Chevy Bolt .. would allow knowing exactly how much KW (horsepower) you were getting during acceleration ..
would like a icon to open the rear hatch and frunk on main screen next to camera button which was a much appreciated OTA add.

I would like AM radio back (had it in my '21 Select) and foot activated rear liftgate (had it in my '21 Select too).....

agree with dgilles428, would like to see KW used for each trip

also to see regen miles per trip and lifetime, had both when shutting down after each trip in my 2013 c-max energi ( when trading in c max for '21 Select had over 7000 miles of regen from 2013 to 2021, almost a full year of driving at that time )

as others have said, easier access to 12v battery, plugs or something else

also as someone else said a stripped down version, I also do not use many of the features

I agree with most of the other suggestions so just giving my top items.

1) Suspension! Can’t believe no one mentioned this. Single biggest issue for me.

2) improved battery heat management to remove power limiting.

3) tilting seat bottom

4) better winter range which heat pump will help but feel people have too high an expectation of heat pump.

5) faster charging architecture

6) more energy use displays and stats
