Oh wow! Yet another wish list thread! ? Here are mine:
1. Ventilated seats
2. Heated (and ventilated) rear seats.
3. Reclining rear seats (seriously Ford, just lift them from the Escape already)
4. Auto-dimming exterior mirrors
5. Power frunk like the F150, with hands-free opening.
6. Auto-park/park out, from outside the vehicle, like Hyundai.
7. Full interior accent lighting (including the rear of the passenger compartment), as shown in the original 2021 marketing materials.
8. Full adjustable power seats, including fore and aft tilt.
9. HUD to supplement the IP.
10. Better 12V battery maintenance.
11. Ability to ā€œpullā€ power-ups that are GA
12. Illuminated front pony for non-GTs (I’d be happy with a dealer-installed accessory from Ford Parts).
13. 120V AC outlet in the passenger cabin
14. Separately-controllable rear climate.
15. HomeKit integration
16. Faster graphics and interactive rendering b response (it’s pretty snappy, but could be a bit better)
To this excellent list, I would add the following:

  1. @Graction's list
  2. 120VAC outlet in track
  3. 120VAC outlet in frunk
  4. Courtesy lights in the glove box and center compartment
  5. Better lighting in the frunk and trunk
  6. Sentry mode
  7. Pet mode
  8. Camping mode

The entire display needs to be revised - for safety sakes. As it is now, I see this:

1. LOTS of blank, used space on the upper section. And icons that are disabled while driving!!! (Really, I have to tell Ford that!?)

2. Every function/button we use is on the bottom of the screen. This creates a SIGNIFICANT safety hazard, as you’re always looking down. That takes a 1/2 second to adjust your eyes.(that’s 44 feet at 60 mph, just to adjust your vision!).

3. The increased functions of the only knob was an improvement - however the revised interaction of the heated seats allows you to simply click and not move your hands.
4. The center console driving screen needs new layout as well. When holding your hands at ā€˜11 and 1 o’clock, most info is not visible. We don’t need to see an icon of a car with spacing info. We need speed rate and the current speed limit. Maybe battery info, cabin temp.

Solution:

1. Flip the layout. We need to keep our eyes up - not down.

2. Put more icons in the middle and upper areas by making the icons smaller. Ford can do this by utilizing the blank/black space.

…and I won’t even get into the Navigation screen….but Ford should look at what their competitors are doing on navigation.
I disagree. In any regular vehicle, the climate controls are usually lower on the center tree. That’s because with auto climate control you will set the temp and forget. No need to constantly change the climate all the time. Leave the screen where it is. It works. The navigation is used regularly, it works good and is intuitive. It’s in a good position.

Here are the problems with opinions. Everyone here would customize a screen to satisfy themselves. When Ford (or any company) finalizes the layout, it is done with the majority of testers telling Ford where things should be. If 100 people are testing, and 65 of them say to put the climate controls on the bottom, that is a representation that 65% of the public would want it there.

Now, maybe in an all digital world, each Ford owner could re-arrange the screen to suit them…. Maybe…..

Just curious, what is wrong with the 12 volt battery maintenance?

There are a few conditions where the 12V battery doesn’t get charged.

I also agree with most of the above suggestions and would like to add that Ford should provide retrofit Capabilities for any new hardware features(heat pump, front cooled and rear heated seats, suspension upgrades, self parking etc) that are available in the future to existing owners at Reasonable cost.

While the Mach-E is packed well with features, I’m still missing

1. Blind spot monitors like KIA has.
2. Physical buttons for Auto-hold and Camera
and
3. I really want a better rear end design with greater airflow and more clean and minimalist style.

Front and sides are smooth and clean with perfect curves, but the rear end is overwhelming. This design is a nightmare in times of car washing. It’s very difficult to drying out even with professional blower. No matter how much time I spend to drying out there are always will be water coming from all this cavity and crevices resulting in water spots. Maybe it’s my fault by adding spoilers but first ride after car wash and the rear end is full with dust and dirties.

TBH, I still prefer car climate controls to NOT be a part of the digital screen console. My previous ride (Honda CIvic) had the climate controls within the console system, and it was a bit of a PITA. I noticed that the newer civics undid that, and the climate controls are back to being analog.

I just don't like the fact that sometimes the controls require more attention then they should. Like, if you mis-press the screen you have to do it again, or make sure that you didn't accidentally move it too much.

Randy, it seems you have all the answers. Perhaps you should start your company.

Not teasing….’know-it-alls

most cars have dials on tree, allowing one to feel the changes. There is only visual feed back to make changes.

And thank you for informing me on what I should do with the temperature, seat heat, steering wheel temp and defoggers. How have I driving 2,000,000+ miles without your expertise (SMH)

Perhaps you haven’t noticed: we live in an all digital world. And yes, I’ve been customizing EVERY screen/phone/tablet for 20 years.

…and both screens waste the majority of the screen. Every passenger in my car has made similar comments about the wasted space and poor visibility. We have high expectations and standards.

I sincerely doubt ford tests as much as you suggest. The interface is simply awful.

Recalls, voltage issues, ROUGH/bumpy ride…if this car had even 75% of the $60k it cost, I’d trade it in. Perhaps the worst car purchase I’ve made.

Cheers…
