My MME GT was built July 2022 and delivered 9/15/22. HVBJB failed in April 2023 with about 3,100 miles. I now have about 6,500 miles so this one has made it longer than the first!

Wouldn't do much good to replace the HVBJB in a 2023 with the same part.
The updated HVBJB started going into cars in the factory on May 24, 2022....well before 2023s were being built. The 2023's were corrected in manufacturing. That's why the production line shut down for 2 months on the 2022.
If you are on the @heisnuts schedule, you’re due for another one. They’re like oil changes. ??My MME GT was built July 2022 and delivered 9/15/22. HVBJB failed in April 2023 with about 3,100 miles. I now have about 6,500 miles so this one has made it longer than the first!
I hate to see the bottom half of my car dropped every time but as long as Ford is paying for it....If you are on the @heisnuts schedule, you’re due for another one. They’re like oil changes. ??
Interesting. So your GT was built with the 2nd version of the HVBJB that was installed in cars built after May 24, 2022 (likely Service Part # LK9Z-10C666-A for the GT per TSB 22-2178 dated 8/1/22). When it failed in April 2023, it would have been replaced with the 3rd version of the HVBJB per TSB 23-2020 dated 1/26/23 (Service Part # LK9Z-10C666-B for the GT). Ford's confusing parts numbering system includes both Service Part #'s (the part # on the box) and Engineering Part #'s (the part # stamped on the part itself), and I am referencing both here to help sort out exactly what is happening. My MME GT was built July 2022 and delivered 9/15/22. I heard Selects are not included in the recall. I put my Select's VIN into Ford's database and it is not included in the new recall. Is yours included if you enter your VIN into their online database? It finally happened to me. 23000 miles with a select AWD 2022.

Selects (and Premiums with the SR battery) are not included in the new recall. But the HVBJB will still be replaced if it fails.I heard Selects are not included in the recall. I feel like it's worth calling your dealership and at least enquiring sooner than later. If you use Level 3 chargers, it's pretty much guaranteed to fail eventually, so you should try to be proactive and get it replaced before it causes you problems.Does this mean my HVBJB will be replaced even if it hasn't failed yet? Thanks MachE70!Interesting. So your GT was built with the 2nd version of the HVBJB that was installed in cars built after May 24, 2022 (likely Service Part # LK9Z-10C666-A for the GT per TSB 22-2178 dated 8/1/22). This 3rd version of the GT HVBJB (Service Part # LK9Z-10C666-B) is the part that is currently available for sale on FordParts.com. Note that if you plug in Engineering Part # LK98-10C666-AC into FordParts.com, it will give you that same currently available HVBJ. So apparently Service Part # LK9Z-10C666-B is the same as Engineering Part # LK98-10C666-AC. The Engineering Part #'s are referenced in the NHTSA document 23V-687 entitled Part 573 Safety Recall Report which describes the HVBJB recall and replacement campaign. For the GT's, the document states the new part will be LK98-10C666-AD, so a newer version than is currently available and apparently the 4th version of the HVBJB for GT's.
The NHTSA document also states that "The Updated BEC hardware design was introduced into production on May 25, 2022." But I simply don't believe that based on the chronology of evolving part #'s as described above. Plus, this poster's updated post-May 2022 HVBJB failed after 3100 miles, so I certainly do not want that part put in my car! And it also just makes no sense that Ford would want to put that part into 30,000+ cars.
Note that the part numbers for non-GT HVBJBs did not change between TSB 22-2178 (8/1/22) and TSB 23-2020 (1/26/23), so apparently non-GT cars are only on their 2nd version of the HVBJB. The new engineering part #'s shown in the NHTSA document indicate that non-GT cars may be getting a new 3rd version of the HVBJB as part of this recall.
I certainly could be wrong about this because following all the bread crumbs of contradictory and confusing evidence is not easy. It would be really great if Ford would just be transparent for a change and tell us exactly what is happening. I have a GT built in April 2022 with the original faulty HVBJB still intact after 5800 miles. I hope very much that this recall gives me a well-designed and robust HVBJB that I never have to spend another second worrying about.
Correct, as long as it doesn't fail until after the new part is hopefully available after October 30th - hang in there! This should all be confirmed for sure once we start getting the official recall letters that are scheduled to go out to all applicable owners starting October 30, so stay tuned. Thanks MachE70!
So mine isn't recalled based on the manufacture date but if my HVBJB goes bad again, I will get an updated part from the one that was installed in the first repair?
I hope your dealership is more responsive than the dealership I took mine to was. They ghosted both the Ford BEV team and me. ?‍<SNIP>
I noticed an email from her this morning explaining she called my dealership to follow up on the progress with my car and was told the repairs were complete and, pending a test drive, the car would be ready today. The email was two hours ago; still no word from the dealership.
