That is why I am looking at the Rotiforms with the Aerodisc. However, it says they are not compatible with my model (not sure why). I have seen them on others who have posted here though. If I could find the CR1 wheels I would go with those, but Ford charges an insane amount for them.
If memory serves me correctly, the Aeordisc fits a handful of Rotiform wheel models. Which Rotiform model are you eyeing? happy to double check the fitment details.

I hope to pick up the new wheels this weekend from my local Discount Tire (there's been a delay getting one of the tires). I'll post pics after everything is mounted.
Thank you for your business, Steve - though I'm sorry to hear about the delay.

Happy to look into the single tire that's straggling behind if you need any assistance, just shoot us a DM.

Thanks again!

@Discount Tire this particular tire has a national backorder but my local DT found four in a Florida warehouse. Sadly the label on one tire fell off and the tire was relabelled to go somewhere in NY versus to this Richmond VA area DT. Another tire was found in SC ... who knows, maybe both tires will be delivered to my local DT today LOL.

Have definitely seen this a time or two in my 20 years here at DTC! Positive vibes the tires come today!

The LAS-R or the RSE. I want to get the 18" wheels though. I am not sure why they are saying that they aren't compatible as it is the same fitment as the CR1 wheels. Also the Select comes stock with 18", but the dealer chose to have the 19" wheels put on the vehicle I purchased. I just need to know if those models are compatible (including weight).

Looks like the LAS-R (in 18-inch specifically) is not offered in the 5-108 bolt pattern. The 18x8.5 ET+45 RSE, however - is. From the fitment data I show on my end, this should work.

to confirm, I reached out to Rotiform directly and the rep I spoke with stated the 18x8.5 ET+45 RSE does fit your Mach-E, according to their info sheets. They have the silver finish in stock as well through their NorCal distribution center.

Thank you! I am going to be looking at these and paired with the tire I posted. I am going to wear out my current tires first. I will send you a PM.

It's not about the value or saving money. It is more about convenience. I want to be able to make my daily commute and still have the option to drive my car downtown that night if needed. Currently, I can't do that without having to charge because everything is highway miles.
I’m not trying to dissuade you, but sticking with my hypothetical 5% range gain, with a 70 kWh battery pack would save you 3.5 kWh.

At an efficiency of 2.1 mi / kWh (again, call it “average” highway efficiency) you eke out an extra 7-ish miles of range each day. But that assumes you start the day at 100% charge and end at 0%.

All I’m saying is the math (assuming I’ve got it right-ish) will really tell you whether the investment is worth the added range.

What’s your highway speed? Obviously going a bit slower will also preserve range, it’s feasible.

The speed for the road is 70, so usually I set the cruise control to 71 or 72. I don't go faster because of the range implications. Before it wasn't an issue, but after I changed jobs to a further location I started to think about it.

I should mention, I have thought about purchasing new rims for some time now, just have never pulled the trigger. But if I do purchase new ones, I would go to the 18" rims just because of the efficiency it has (even a little) versus the 19". Definitely will not be going up in size.

I’d certainly be interested in seeing a non-scientific before and after comparison (and pictures of course!) when you finally get it done. If you start now recording some baseline data, like weekly averages etc you’d be in a decent spot to do some before and after comparisons.

Good luck!

Definitely! I plan on doing this even if I just get those tires on my 19" rims right now. I want to see how much the Hankook iON EVO SUV adds to range. I also really like the 50k warranty and how they are designed for EVs.

Reference my post #15 about the Rotiform 19" LAS-R 19x8.5 +45 rims, Aerodiscs and Conti ExtremeContact DWS06 Plus 245/50 tires I was having Discount Tire build up. I mounted them to my Shadow Black 2022 GT this past week. I have a set of photos to show the overall look (with and without the Aerodiscs mounted) and the tire and Aerodisc positions relative to the wheel arches.

I also want to say that the ride quality has notably improved compared to the stock wheels. Yes, I lost some of the "cool factor" going from 20" to 19" rims and from 45 to 50 ratio sidewalls but I'm not regretting those losses after experiencing this better ride.

They look great!

The DWS06+ will definitely have higher rolling resistance over the stock tires, but the taller sidewalls and the aero covers might be an improvement in air resistance at highway speeds. So I bet around town you see a range hit, but it might be pretty close to normal on the highway. Let us know what your observe.

New tires tend to be stickier so they might drop your range by 5%.

Getting a highway range increase was one my goals. I have baseline range data using the stock setup but with winter temps now upon us I'll have to wait until spring/early summer before I can compare the new setup.
