It may be the 12v, is it trying to install and failing? For 6.6 last night it was pending install all day, my wife was only using the car for short errands, and each time she got home I tried to install it and it failed. Then I took it for a 30min drive to charge up the 12v and it installed no prob.
100 KW of battery power, a 12V on board power supply and it is plugged into a 240V power feed but it all hinges on the little 12V cmos battery. Weird but true. Every FDRS install I have read it states hook it up to a 12V charger. Drill the ports through the frunk cover to access the 12V charging poles and make life easier. Extension cord and a 15 - 20 amp charger will save the drive.

Ford is currently teasing the heck out of me with 6.3.0 sitting as "Not Completed" for the last several days. Would love to know what causes an update to be left in this odd condition but it's NBD (I hope).

Ditto. We didn't drive Marlin yesterday and went out to a store last evening. I was happy to see 6.3.0 pending on the software update screen:

but after a few minutes the update went away:

It stayed like that until we returned home and plugged in overnight.

This morning I have the update pending again:

I think I'm going to go for a drive.

I have also read that different updates have different 12v thresholds, like most install at 80%, some may require 90%. And yeah every EV can still be crippled by a dead 12v even with the big battery.

2021 Job 2, still stuck at 6.1

Granted I haven’t had a lot of time to charge it recently, so it’s been running in the 10-50% battery range with about 20-40 miles put on each day.

Not sure how the 12V system works in relation to overall charging/miles driven.

Believe it or not, I experienced the same thing just by checking for updates 2-3 times to see if the download would start. When I saw the "No uipdates available at this time for your vehicle." message, I rebooted the center console and the 6.3.0 update showed up again as "stuck" at "Not Completed".

Please do let me know if your drive spurs the download to start!

Good thought! I did take my car for a couple of errands to see if I could kick it into gear with a drive to recharge the 12V a bit. The car is used almost daily for short errand runs and occasional longer errand trips, as well. Previous updates haven't shown the 12V-related delay - but I am not ruling it out. :)

When will Ford wake up and use WiFi vs. relying on AT&T. I now have a second home where 5G is as useful as a wet noodle. I have taken to just turning the car on in the garage in hopes they will use WiFi. MB’s of up and down traffic, but still sitting at 6.10 and no signs of the mysterious unnumbered update.

Sigh…

Still a bit of a mystery, but I observed the following yesterday after not having my car on or charging for nearly a week. When I turned it on yesterday, Sync was weirding out, so I fired up the OBD and saw that my LVB was at 28%. It recovered to 60% fairly quickly, 30 some minutes. Took another 1.5 hours to get to 68%, much slower rate of increase. Charging amps was steady at 20.

6.2.1 was showing as downloading the whole time. Shortly after parking it, I got the Success Notification for installation of 6.2.1. My experience has been OTAs seem to go through as long as the LVB is close to 70%.

My car has been showing 6.2.1 not complete for a whole week now. During that entire time the 12v never went below 70%, in fact it stayed above 85% most of that time. During that week there's around 4-5 hours of actual driving time, 4 hours of charging time, and 10+ hours of "ignition on" sitting in my garage hoping it would do something time.

It got the unnumbered update on 11-21, then the next day on 11-22 shows 6.2.1 not complete and hasn't changed since.

Bad news: My drive didn't do it. I was out for 1.5 hours with 5 stops.

Good news: this afternoon my wife had Marlin out on her trip, 6.3.0 finally installed.

Fingers crossed 6.4.0 comes soon. It's supposed to be close behind and is an inhibit update.

Yep ... add me to the "me too" list. My '21 Job 1 updated to 6.3.0 while using it today. It actually updated earlier in the afternoon and I did about an hour's worth of driving around this evening wondering if it would move on to 6.4.0 ... it did not But hey! I'm happy to see the updates are rolling again

I think I got 6.2.1 the day before Thanksgiving ... so with Ford off for the Thanksgiving weekend, I'm thinking no additional updates were queued. Now that it's a new week, hopefully things are rolling again.

FYI everyone "NOT COMPLETED" means you are waiting on the server to re-release the update to your vehicle. This can take anywhere from hours to days or weeks depending on the speed of rollout. If you get a failed update, then you have to wait unit you get another shot. Sometimes Ford cancels an update and you will see this message until they re-release it. Driving the car repeatedly will not help when you haven't gotten another trigger from the server yet. Just wait.

"Preconditions not met" means the 12V battery is probably low. Then driving or charging will do some good.

Note there is a difference in how you handle the two messages.

That's concerning, the 12V battery should never be allowed to get down to 28%. It should recharge at 40%.

I think you were looking at the DC/DC LV output, 20A is the base load of the vehicle. You should look at the 12V battery current instead. It will decrease as the battery nears full charge. Yes it can take several hours.
