I keep reading about all the latest updates people have been getting and wondering if I'm not getting them. I have a 2021 MME Premium. The last update I got was 6.1.0 on October 24, 2023. I'm set up for automatic updates. Am I missing some?

Wow, I am really far behind. I wonder if I should bring it to the dealer to update?
Although I don't have the frunk update, I do have it on my FordPass. Weird?

No, you probably really aren't that behind. Not all cars have been offered the ability to download and install the 6.2+ updates, since Ford does rolling updates. The 2021 cars were sitting at 6.1.0 until maybe a week or two ago, due to issues with 6.2.0, hence why next for your car being 6.2.1.

Not all cars receive updates at the same time, not all cars receive every update. These are not the same as computer or phone updates.

My husband’s 2021 has not gone past 6.1.0 yet either.

I got 6.1.0 on 10-Oct. Nothing since. I’m not too worried, updates will come when they’re ready.

6.x is current.

I would only recommend going to the dealer if you are still on 4.x updates.

I was stuck on an incomplete 6.1 for quite a while.

Eventually sorted itself then a month later (this week) I got 6.2, 6.3, and 6.4 on back to back to back days.

nothing sorted here.. why the heck can't we at least have the recall download? I don't understand the problem. are there servers that bad? Have they no confidence in their work? Simple fix. Allow updates on demand same as the rest of tech.

Nothing about the modules in this car is simple. They are all made by other manufacturers and all those manufacturers need to be involved when developing an update.

I have a 22 GT with no 6.x series as of yet. I figure if nothing happens before the HVBJB recall rolls out then I will ask the dealer to look at things. Seems like my car holds the red lantern on most OTA’s so I am not really worried about it at this time.

I think what he’s saying is it would be nice to be able to download them on demand-esque. There are probably different versions of updates for different builds as you explain, they exist, most of them are available and supposedly rolling out, however they just aren’t allowed to download. That, along with the release note confusion and versioning weirdness causes people to wonder if they’re missing out. Also, this used to be an actual problem where cars really would get left out until they hit the dealer, for whatever reason.

Got 6.2.0 yesterday.
One great new feature is the braking under cruise control starts sooner at a distance I'm comfortable with, instead of previous hitting the binders at last second.

Didn't get notified I had an update - noticed the change in auto braking and went to check what changed.
