You think we all agree that we shouldn’t push the car or DCFC? Where is this coming from? I’ve not heard anyone on this forum advocating for that. This is a Mustang for gods sake. I drive it like I stole it. Judging by my four speeding tickets in 15 months, I think I’m doing pretty darn good.
The recall letter I received says I should avoid DCFC and hard acceleration. I gave the letter my middle finger, got in my car, and floored it all the way to a EA station. What BS. But the OP is correct.

Two years and still no HVBJB failure!

This is just speculation, but I think there's a very good chance that the Mach E didn't begin it's product design lifecycle as a Mustang, and the junction box wasn't redesigned when the decision was made to add the GT powertrain.

I'd also speculate that the announcement of improved charge times for the 2024 rally (and presumable the rest of the lineup) may indicate improved cooling of the critical power delivery infrastructure.
Actually it's well known it was going to be a compliance car.

If you listen to the press release about the rally they mention new charging hardware and a in house rear motor. Likely they have been extremely conservative with the power management and now have enough data that they feel safe removing some of the restrictions

The way I look at this is pretty simple: I will drive it the way I drive it; if the HVBJB goes kaput, it’s on Ford, not me.

Wait, you got the HVBJB to fail 3x on a '23 Select? With the standard range pack? NCM or LFP?

We don't see that many standard range pack failures, much less 3x on a car with the new HVBJB.
it would be interesting to see if this truly was 3 HVBJB failures or just what the techs claimed to replace. That is my biggest fear - that while I consider myself knowledgeable about the car I don’t have the skill to work on it. I could do almost anything on my old VW, so if I took it somewhere for convenience I could tell if my mechanic was knowledgeable and honest.

I'm curious about the claimed 3x HVZBJB failures on a Select in 10K miles, but I think it would be pretty hard for a tech to fake the needed DTCs for an HVBJB replacement. Ford can independently verify them.

Me, pretty much this minus the tickets (so far).

We accelerate slowly with an aim to keep the scores at all 100s. We slow charge on Level 2. Mine is going to live forever. Or, probably outlive me.

Retired. I'd say it was a mid life crisis, but not many people live to 140.

While he didn't exactly say not to get a Mach-E, he did mention they've had meetings about "big changes" coming in August. This includes a redesign of the Mach-E and an all electric "Focus like" vehicle.
Sounds like the 2025 MY Mach-E will be a redesign. Good. They've learned a lot of lessons that I'm sure they'll be implementing.

It'd be too soon for me to buy again, but after another couple of years, maybe. :) Maybe 2027? Give them time to sort the redesign, like I gave them 2021-2023 to sort their current design?

As for some kind of EV Focus, to be honest I think that this kind of thing is what North America has needed all along. I went to the GT PE from a 2020 LG Bolt EV, and I might have stayed in a more economical small EV if we had one with more comfort and better autonomous systems like Blue Cruise.

I do agree with your post. Although I don't have any speeding tickets....yet, I occasionally drive it like I stole it. I need to get around slow people on the interstate.

Sounds like you need a Valentine One. It has saved our ass on many occasions and has definitely has paid for itself. ? I'm trying to talk hubby into upgrading to the new version so I can take the current one for the MME instead of swapping it out any time we road trip.

Does it work with traffic cameras? I get caught with a camera and get sent the ticket home. My wife is not happy.
