I happen to be in the message center and noticed there was an ā€œElectrical System Drainā€ alert on a day my car never left the garage. I have two questions I hope the group can answer.

1) Does anyone know how to setup real time alerts for this error message? I’d of course want to know if I was at work and my battery was draining.

2) Does anyone know if bluetooth could be the culprit? I don’t use any aftermarket accessories so nothing should be draining the battery unless my movement in my home kept waking up the car.

thanks in advance!

See the beginning of this topic for ideas about the drain cause: https://www.macheforum.com/site/threads/how-to-recondition-service-your-12v-battery.11069/

Since you store your key close to the vehicle, I recommend disabling welcome lighting. It may repeatedly trigger and drain the battery.

Weird.

We got the same message this morning. 2023 P4X

The car is charged to 90% and was just sitting in the driveway unplugged.

There were no personal devices plugged in inside the car.

I am guessing Ford's notification system sent out the message by mistake

Do you have anything plugged into your obii socket? My diagnostic sender caused this in my MME.

Aren't the Mach E fobs Ford's motion-sensing variant that stop transmitting if the fob hasn't moved for 40 seconds?

Granted, no idea how sensitive they are to movement/vibrations.

No, not the North American ones. Europe only.

Nothing is plugged in.

Car is driven daily and charged to 90% every other day or so.

Last night it was parked outside (35f temp) instead of the garage.

Reading other posts about the LVB, this isn't a user problem.

Ford made some choices about the LVB and the charging logic that don't seem to work in the real world. Other EVs have had problems with LVB discharging while parked. I want to say Toyota and Hyundai.

My LVB stays around 80-85%. Drive 30-60 miles/day. We've only had the car about 6 months. We keep the fobs just inside the house from the attached garage(about 12 ft. from the car). I've never noticed the car light up unless opening the door while carrying the phone or fob.

Hi there, Tom. This battery drain message concern doesn’t sound like something we want you to experience with your Mach-E. If you are still having concerns and need assistance, I am more than happy to see how I can assist further. Feel free to send us a PM with your VIN and the name/location of your servicing dealer and I'd be happy to look into this for you. To send a private message, just click on our username and select "Start Conversation".

I had this error the first time Thanksgiving week. I took it in the following Monday and was told an update failed. They did some reinstallations, took care of a recall, and said all fixed. After that, the hands-free BlueCruise no longer worked and two weeks later, the error returned.
Dropped her off again on the 18th, and she's still being worked on. They opened a support case with Ford Engineering. To date, they've replaced two different modules and attempted to reprogram the modules and computer multiple times with no success.
I've been very happy with my MME since I got it, but now I'm starting to rethink this decision. Based on how many responses people have received about what the possible cause is for the error and how many different fixes there may be, I'm skeptical about putting my trust in Ford going forward.

Mine also went in for this. Three days of head scratching and they determined that the foot actuated hatch sensor module was causing it. They turned it off for 3 weeks. Reprogrammed and turned back on. Hasn't done it since. Only did it with my wife who uses a fob. With the PAAK I use walk a way lock. She doesn't. We do have a lot of small animals around the yard that like to hide under the car. I'm not sure if this may have had a effect.

The kick-to-open sensor is only active when the phone/fob is within 1 meter of the hatch. Random animal activity shouldn’t be a factor.

That's what I thought too. Fob and Paak are over 70 ft away normally. Just why I question the dealers diagnosis.

Maybe he thinks there is a physical problem with the sensor causing a constant drain. If so, he should order you a new one and replace it.

Lastly, I assume you don’t have a 3rd party managing your charging schedule or kWh. They would constantly ping the MME preventing it from going into sleep mode. If not, I’m out of suggestions.

ps- if your 3rd party charging is monitored at the charger that’s ok; if at the MME that’s not ok.

nothing connected hardware or software.

We use the Ford Connected Charger. It hasn’t happened since, but we also haven’t left it parked outside.
