COVID-19, the disease caused by the novel coronavirus, is now the No. 1 cause of death in the U.S. -- killing more people on average per day than cancer or heart disease.

The virus is the cause of 1,970 deaths in the U.S. per day, according to a graph published Tuesday by Dr. Maria Danilychev, based in San Diego, Calif. In comparison, the graph shows 1,774 deaths per day are attributed to heart disease and 1,641 to cancer, according to Newsweek.

The mache is still getting built. The delay is 3 weeks. With all that is going on and the complaining, I'm shocked. Some people are lucky to get to work from home. These people are under pressure and trying hard to get the product to you. Do you think ford doesn't want to sell the products quickly as they can?
ford could have sent them out any way they can just to have them sold. Do we really want that?
Sometimes we as humans need to walk in front of the mirror and take a look at ourselves. The medical field workers are being put to the flame each day. As people, we have become so greedy and I want to throw a fit like willy Wanko chocolate factory blue girl.

It's the holidays, what happened to being thankful. My family is healthy, i have food on the table, clothes on my back, and a warm bed to sleep in. If the mache was delayed months Then yeah maybe a little upset for people. But 3 weeks really 3 weeks.
We have almost 600 cases of covid 19 at the plant I work. The chance for an auto manufacturer worker to catch covid 19 is almost at 50%. I won't even go into how many co-workers we have lost that are not with us anymore.

The mache is coming I promise enjoy time with your family. Be thankful you get to see them one more day. Right now some people are not getting that option.

I hope you all stay safe and have a wonderful holiday the best way we all can.
I think just launching a new vehicle is more complex than people realize. Launching an entirely new platform and propulsion, even more so. Throw in the awful virus from China, yeah, that's a heavy lift to say the least. So I'll roll with the delay even if it's 3 months, heck 6 months, whatever it takes, I'm sure they are doing the best they can in light of the circumstances.

I have a 4k drone and am a licensed Part 107 pilot. But there's no way I'm making that trip!
Have a long range drone?

Ford won't let you take delivery from other than a dealer, but aside from that, the trip isn't that difficult. I've actually made that drive on multiple occasions (literally from the parking lot of CSAP)! I tend to choose Eagle Pass, which adds a little time, but it avoids the narco corridor that's at Laredo and Nuevo Laredo. You'd be driving what looks like a crappy economy car instead of a late model Expedition Max (my usual ride there) or Suburban.

These latter are the ones that attract attention, because they're what the narcos drive. Either other narcos think your one of them, or an enemy, or the police and army thank you're one. In my 2003 Continental, I was always waived through checkpoints. In a 2011 Expedition Max, it was a guaranteed stop. Police in Auguascalientes learned a whole lot about door halos one night.

I've lived nearly five years in Mexico, and have driven it back and forth from Sonara to Quinata Roo. Stick to the D (toll) roads, or major highways, and you'll be fine. Take a scenic tour through the mountains in Michoacan, and unless you've got Monarch bait, you'd better be pretty careful.
Yes but how are the charging stations?

Violet. She was turning violet, that Violet Beauregarde from the wanker movie. :)

Some of us had to wait for toilet paper and canned food. Now we can wait for our brand new cars. It isn't so hard.

I am thankful for this community and all of you that keep me informed and entertained while we wait for our cars. You know what? I'm even thankful for our local Post Patrol, who keeps us G-rated (mostly) and writes his tickets sparingly.

Stay happy and let's try our best to stay healthy. Happy Chanukah (it still is for a wee bit more) and Merry Christmas! Et cetera. ;)

Take these words to heart.. I work in a large LA area hospital as a CT Technologist. The things I'm seeing at work are nightmarish. Be thankful for what you have and stop stressing over a plaything.

Hit the nail on the head. Well said. We've all waited this long. A bit longer for a quality product isn't going to hurt anyone

Our situation worldwide is probably the hardest we all faced in decades. It´s truly a nightmare. And what makes it worse is the fact that we don´t see the light at the end of the tunnel.
So 100% a car isn´t the center of world at the moment but I have a lot of understanding for those here eagerly waiting. I am one of them, too. I check forums, my order status etc. multiple times a day. It´s simply a "welcome distraction" from what goes on out there and lot´s of us folks just want to spend more thoughts on something nice like the MME in a time where we hear, read and talk "COVID" nearly 24/7.
Get me right...absolutely no need or excuse to blame ANY company for struggling in whatever during these times. Keeping the people safe hast to be No. 1 priority. I just tried to explain that maybe (or hopefully) the intentions of most of us never have been like "i don´t care about the workers, just get me my car".
If I would have the (theoretical) chance to help make things better by waiting for a car over a very long period (or to pass on it), I definitely would do it.

Let´s stay together guys and try to be positive and enthusiastic about something we are all looking forward to, without forgetting what matters most. The people.
For example just remember three days ago, where we all from different parts of the world, had so much fun when reviews came out, and COVID seemed far away for a day.
Let´s look forward.

Cheers
Paul

Some discussion a few days ago about whether people with a build week for this week had seen the Ford website update with their vehicle having been built.

I had an 11/23 build week, but the Ford website does not yet show my MME as having been built. I do not have a VIN from my dealer to know if it actually was built and is now waiting for shipment like the other MMEs.

I don’t check this thread for a few days and we smash through 4,000 posts!

Does the Ford reservation page show an 11/23 build week or did you dealer give you that date?

Hmmmm. 50cm SAR resolution from a microsat? I don't think that is even possible. 50m res maybe. I suspect they may be doing software overlay of their SAR image with a 50cm optical image. We do have multi-spectral, infrared, and down to 32cm optical imagery but not from small(cheap) microsats.

If the forum wants some inside imagery, I'm thinking we give someone a 4K drone, pay to fly them down to Mexico, and see if they can fly the drone into the facility when someone opens a door for their smoke break.
Just repeating the website blurb. My knowledge of SAR is from the Stone Age ???

A friend of ours had her father die last night. Went int the hospital for something else and contracted COVID-19. Killed him within 2 weeks. Yes, he was older. Yes he was not in the best health and vulnerable, but would still be here if not for the pandemic. Makes me angry when politicians tell us it is a fake pandemic or that it kills only those old and weak anyway. If it was your dad, that doesn’t matter.
Hug your kids and family. If you are healthy you are blessed. The cars will come and we can have even more fun talking about them.
Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, I truly enjoy the distraction of this discussion with all of you!

Well said @trutolife27

We have uh...BBQ, yeah that's it! Oh and bluebonnets...
As someone who enjoys lots of different BBQ styles, Texas. IMO, is close to the top.

Now Texas chili on the other hand, I can’t support. I make a mean pot of chili but you better believe it’s got all sorts of stuff in it. None of that meat and sauce only nonsense.
