When playing songs from Apple CarPlay only a handful of songs appear in the library on the MME entertainment screen but I can pick a missing song on my phone and it plays. Anyone else have this issue or am I missing something here?

I am not sure what you mean by playing from CarPlay but using the MME entertainment screen. Are you picking songs from CarPlay, or using the MME infotainment screen to navigate the song list? If you are using the actual CarPlay screen, are you using a specific music app?

I think, either way, the issue is in the interest of safety the number of songs you can scroll through is limited. I know Apple limits how much you see in CarPlay, and I suspect Ford does as well. The idea being, staring at your infotainment screen and scrolling through a long list is dangerous. You can see the list on the phone because there is an assumption a passenger could be handling it.

I am looking at my library list from Apple Music via Apple CarPlay. What you are saying makes I guess. Never thought about the safety aspect and saving ppl from their own stupidity.
Thanks for your response

If driving above 5 or 10mph, it limits you to the top 10 only. Same for voicemails, etc.
I haven't been able to figure out the algorithm it uses to limit things. It seems to show some play lists at random.
Good thing Siri is pretty good at playing what I ask it to.

In addition, if you have cellular data turned off in Music you do not get a full library - only those songs you have actually downloaded to the phone.

Yes, I have been using Siri to play the rest of the library as a work around.

You can access your entire library using voice commands. This is by design as Apple doesn't want the driver navigating their music library on screen while driving. It's pretty simple.
Press and hold the voice button on the steering wheel and say.
Song: "Play song Sultans of Swing"
Album: "Play album The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway by Genesis"
Playlist: "Play playlist Driving Music"

I think its just the car manufacturer. I had a 2017 Hyundai Elantra Limited that did not limit what I could see on CarPlay while driving.

Except this really sucks. I would prefer my music play from my downloaded library but it defaults to streaming from Apple Music. This is the worst.

There is an instance where one album I like has a messed up track on Apple Music but I have it downloaded on my phone that I ripped years ago from the actual CD. Everytime I use Siri to initiate the playing of that album, it plays the messed up track instead of what i have downloaded.

From reading on it a bit more, I think it's still just CarPlay, it just depends on if the car manufacturer passes along the current speed data to CarPlay. CarPlay leaves it fairly open as to what data passes into CarPlay and what data comes out, so not all vehicles support nav instructions to the instrument cluster.

Ford has passed vehicle speed data to CarPlay for a while, and it's possible the Hyundai does not.

There was a bug in Waze some years ago where Waze would report you were doing 10+ MPH more than you were and people eventually figured out that they introduced a bug where it wasn't interpreting the vehicle speed properly, may have been taking the KMH as MPH or something. If you disconnected CarPlay then Waze showed the correct speed (since it went to using GPS speed instead of vehicle passed speed).

Which proves that it is car manufacturer specific. As I experienced the same (no limit) in the Nissan Rogue I was forced to drive while my Mach E was in the body shop after someone had the nerve to rear-end me.

That isn't my point, you can't say it's car manufacturer when it could vary depending on year of car from the same manufacturer. Maybe the 2017 Hyundai didn't pass that data, but a 2022 would. The limiting factor is CarPlay was all I was indicating. Whether or not that info is passed is down to the manufacturer, but it could vary by model year as manufacturers improve their support for enhanced CarPlay or Android Auto features.
