The recall notice said you’ll be notified when you can bring your car to the dealer. My notice now says:
Called service dept this am at Metro Ford Miami. They told me I first have to schedule an inspection for a couple hours before I can schedule an appointment for the recall. WHAT?? Unfortunately after that call I sent an email to the GM asking why I need a pre-inspection for a recall???

My 1st replacement LJ9Z-10C666-A CONNECTOR
My 2nd replacement NK4Z-10C666-CRM CONNECTOR

OP's replacement NK4Z-10C666-DRM CONNECTOR
Do you know what the difference between the CRM and DRM connectors are?

Mine took 2 months to arrive, and it was the new part rather than the remanufactured part.
I just got a call that the car is completed, so I'll be going to pick it up tomorrow.
I am wondering about the gift. So far Michelle is the only one to report having received it as far as I can tell.
I picked up my car this morning. I had the HVBJB replaced solely because of the recall, the car had never exhibited a problem with it (RWD ext battery, not generally driven hard, very little DCFC), it drives just the same as before, and as far as I can tell it's put back together properly. In addition to the NK4Z*10C666*F connector, they replaced 2 bolts (W7127859*S439), 4 bolt and washer assemblies (W720404*S450), and coolant (VC*13*G). No mention of the "gift", and they know nothing about it.

CRM is for the AWD non-GT; DRM is for the RWD non-GT.
Mine is the RWD non-GT, and I got the "F", which I think is correct. If I had gotten a remanufactured part, would it have been a "DRM"?

Just picked mine up yesterday. NK4Z-10C666 E connector. I have a '21 Premium AWD Extended. No gift, no loaner, just 4 extra days at the dealer because they couldn't get the programming to take.

That is incorrect based on the information provided by Ford. They should be able to open a service order from your VIN alone to order the replacement at least 5 days ahead of your appointment. This recall does not require any inspection.

I had similar issue. Service advisor read through carefully and went to his manager. Manager said yes that is the case, no inspection needed, but they’ve been burned by Ford for warranty/recall reimbursement so many times they are gun shy about about paying for rental in advance without doing the normal process (i.e. inspection first before ordering parts). They are starting to inspect first and if customer requests to skip they’re working with them.

I was one of first ones they did it seems (large SoCal dealer). They also took care of a couple other issues. Required two trips and about seven days in shop total. The HVJB itself recall took them three days once parts came in. Think bolt broke during procedure and took extra day to arrive if I heard correctly.

Recall cleared on Ford website/app and everything seems right.

Only issue after repair was I had reverse break assist not available error come up the first few times I reversed (didn’t do so at dealer since was parked tail in) Fix was to drive on straight road above 30mph with no steering input for five seconds. Did on highway a few times.

No gift received but they did rotate my tires while I was there without charge.

I'm always surprised at the apparent differences from dealer to dealer. My car (2021 AWD Ext Range) is currently at the dealer for the HVBJB recall and 20K service. The advisor told me about the gift from Ford. I'm not sure if I'll get it when they are done or if there will be instructions on how to order it. But, they gave me a brand new 2023 Mach-e with 26 miles on it for a loaner. It has the new Blue Cruise that I am trying out with lane change when you use the turn signal. It's pretty nice, I'm anxious for mine to get that upgrade. I thought about asking the service guys to do it but I don't think that's a great idea.

This must be something new because I was told the same thing and usually you bring it in and they of course they didn't have a loaner available for that. I told them I didn't want to go through this hassle twice and it's a known issue and to look up the recall information under my VIN to order the parts and then let me know when they're in and they have a car for me to drive. They happened to already have the part in stock so the wait was for the loaner car.

I am curious too how long it's going to take to get the points, $50 and the gift but according to the card I should just receive it without having to do anything on my end. I'm glad somebody else received it and I'm wondering it's because the dealership is EV certified although he did say it was a new program so maybe not all the dealerships have received the cards or information yet.

If the dealer is looking at the October dealer note it wants them to inspect first. If they look at December 18 dealer note it says to order parts before appointment. Ask them to make sure they are looking at the correct dealer note.

That appears incorrect. Please explain your information for noting this.

So many versions would leave you to believe that they are still working on it 3 years after release. I wish they would find the fix for the HVBJB and the charging port. Should not be complete rocket science. So if they are putting E's in now what about all those manufactured after May with B and C versions? Have to wonder if those that went through a year with a blown A HVBJB and then replaced again for the second time still did not get it fixed?

Where does it say I don’t need an inspection for this recall? I want to highlight it and bring to dealer.

Ford needs a work order for your car to order the part. Well documented that many people here had to do the same thing.

Either 2 appointments or leave your car a longer time while the part is ordered and comes in.
