Noticed this when I approached my car today. Any idea what could have caused this and would it be covered under warranty repair?

Looks like something chewing on the car to get into the frunk area. If that's animal damage it would not be covered.
Anyway to prove animal damage?

That surely looks like chew marks to me. Open the frunk and pull off the cosmetic panels get a flashlight and look around inside there. Inspect the wiring and look around for signs of varments (nesting, food storage, other places under the panels that are chewed on).

Warranty isn’t going to cover physical damage like that, but comprehensive auto insurance probably would.

Why would you think that warranty would cover some creature chewing on your vehicle?

Rats...

having a problem knowing which piece this is, where is this on the car? Might be a cheap part to replace

The part is the cowl cover, it goes across the whole windshield. My guess is it costs $300.

Rodent might be living in your HVAC filter FYI, under there is where the air intake and filter sits

I throw a couple of these in my frunk.

I'll second this . These things WORK. I also planted peppermint plants around the garage . Apparently EVERYTHING hates the smell of peppermint .

If you think the culprit is still around maybe go to the grocery store and get some peppermint oil in the baking section. Pour some/all into/around the area chewed on . It should drive out the critter and let you inspect/repair the damage without the threat of a rat bite and rabies shot .
Do you park outside ?

Any idea if things nearby have a soy component to them ? In , around or under the cowl ?
I was gonna ask if maybe cat urine would scare off the mouse but if that's where the air filter or air intake is ...that might just be ....unpleasant . Go with the peppermint o_O
