Just got off the phone with them. Turns out they got the TCU in already but they haven't even ordered the APIM!! She said they just got the instructions or whatever from Ford this morning to order the part (no idea what that means since they told me on the 22nd that I needed an APIM and TCU...) and they are going to order shortly. She said a lot of the delay was back and forth discussions with Ford engineering on what to actually do with my car, but they've known since the 22nd at least that it needed 2 new parts so beats me why they haven't ordered yet.Ah. Not sure why the would have asked you to bring it in if all parts were still not there. Hard to say as different dealers work differently. At my store, we'll say it takes longer then we expect to account for complications. Better to look like heroes if we get it out sooner than have to explain why it's not ready when we said it would be.
As far as the battery goes: Yes, you're supposed to leave it on a trickle charger of unused for extended time. I'm sure once they hook it up to FDRS it even sooner, they'll see the voltage and charge it up.
She will update me on how long the APIM is expected to come in, and at that point I'll make a decision on if I want to get my car while I wait for the parts to come in. I'm leaning towards that, since then I'll at least have a car without needing to pay for a rental.
Phew...what a process!
