I don't agree that it is useless. It saves you from spinning a steering wheel back and forth. However it does not work well if the parking lot is completely full and a lot of cars driving around searching for a spot

This is what I see when I press the button.

Does the same thing on my 2023 GT PE. And to the guy that recently posted we need to read our manuals, I did but it wasn't obvious if it was turned on in the 2023s. The manual actually said how to use it so it assumes its activated. I think I figured out it didn't work on 2023s by a post on this forum soon after I tried to use it.

I don't believe they stopped featuring it because of lack of usage. I think there are other reasons

There are tons of things with this car that the manual doesn’t clearly say. The whole hands free tailgate debacle is a great example. It has the buttons and talks about how to use it but doesn’t say the 23 MME doesn’t have the required electronics.

Really? I always assumed that was the parking brake. That was what it was on my last car.
There is the button that has two parallel lines and the P, next to the hazard button. That’s the park assist. The parking break is the toggle below it with a P with a circle and two “waves” coming off it.

What a decision! You should re-evaluate this! - Ford always stated, that one of its goals is to improve safety and convienience 'using their cars. - Currently I'm a proud owner of a 2022 GT PE wich is already my second Mach-E, after having one of the first ones in 2021, here in Germany.
My former mid priced RWD ER with TP2 (Premium) had the Active Park Assist, which was reliable in more than 95% of used cases in 2021 and 2022, before I upgrated to the my new high priced GT PE in December 2022.

Active Park Assist is almost a must, when you have to park in big citys, with tiny spaces like here in Europe and maybe also in US citys like NY City, Philly, Chicago, Denver, MIA, LAX, SFX,... - My 2022.50 GT PE" is sadly only equipped with the "Pep. Kit vor Active Parks Assist". I'm wondering, if I can activate this functionality by adding a not build in LRU (Hardare), as discussed in this forum several times already.

I'm a reliability engineer in aviation industrie for almost 40 years, and "tech nerd" since my highschool years.

Cost savings is one thing, but safety and drivers assistant functionalities should be in the TOP5 to be successfull in times, when batteling for success as a major player within the BEV Industie.

Best regards
Frank

This is one the ambiguities in the manual. Despite that the MME manual is about the best and most readable one I have ever used.

Why not investigate WHY people aren't using it (because it doesn't work great, too slow, etc), and make it actually work rather than just throwing your hands up and eliminating it.

If autonomous cars are the future, you'd think being able to park is a key feature to tackle.

I’ve tried it a few times in quiet parking lots just for fun, never parallel which you almost never see in my part of CA. I was surprised recently by the new feature that shows empty parking spaces. That is really useful in a large parking lot like Costco so I use that. I just passed the two-year mark with my 2021 Premium ER RWD. Still love it, love driving it.

Wow Ford is "discontinuing" a feature the already removed on the '23 model year ?...Did they want a cookie for making it official? Or they going to refund people with '23 model for the completely useless button?

The main problem is that it was just too much of a pain in the butt to use. Its spot detection was poor, there were a few too many steps to get it to trigger, and every now and then it's accuracy was way off. There was one time I used it to get into a tight spot and it caused my car to roll right over a curb.

That said, it has been pretty useful for narrow parking spaces in hotel garages.

I think it should still be offered as an optional feature.

I guess I missed the part that explains what happens to those of us who have the "prep kit" installed for this feature. I believe this was only on later '22 builds. Ford has communicated with us on this not at all.
