I've used lane centering and had the speed on the right since the day I bought the car in 2021. It's certainly not a big deal, at least to me.
Same here. Oh and BTW most if not all other cars have their speedometer off to a side. My ford truck does, my highlander does, my chevy did, my Jetta, did, my Triumph does......point is this argument is old and is just another reason to complain about the quirks/"features" of the car that is otherwise pretty good in my opinion because well it isn't a Tesla or a Fisker with all those bigger issues of late (see other threads on here).

I don't much care where the speed is displayed, but I don't like the prioritization of the static car icon over speed.

What I really want in the driver display is media information. Many cars show what's playing in their instrument cluster, including several Ford and Lincoln vehicles I've driven.

Media information is especially helpful when you have Carplay on the center screen but are listening to Sirius. Similar use case would be using built-in nav while playing music through Carplay. There's plenty of white space on the driver's display. A talented UI designer could add it without making things cluttered.

Me too, I had no idea this was an issue actually. I use BC all the time and am glad the vehicle is in the center so I can see what it is doing regarding BC. Then again, I got use to that from Day 1 so I can see how if one get use to it, it would be aggravating at least at first. But.... did Ford update everyone's car to be like mine due to rolling out BC through software? Like I said, I had it from Day 1 but also have a 2023. See pic below for how mine looks stopped (BTW, I took this pic for a friend that has a Rivian because he knows I always charge the car on superchargers just enough to get home).

I guess I am using that as a general term. I often use that term for anytime I have to charge on the road away from home to complete my trip because that is all many nonEV owners understand. But yeah, the ones I use were anything but super. I actually made a post about it earlier this week.

Ok, gotcha. I assumed you meant DCFC in general.

Over the years speedos' have been put all over the place and in different configurations, so having a digital one off to the right doesn't bother me. I agree with some of the points made that having the car in the center is to easily, and at a glance convey ADAS type info. I haven't used Blue Cruise much but when I have I was surprised how much I liked it and the info the little car gives during that time is useful.
Unfortunately I can't use BC right now because since 6.13 my 'driver-facing camera' is non-functional, kinda funny since part of that update was to 'make the DFC more robust'. According to Ford some units didn't like that and stopped working. Waiting on another update around March. Or April.
One other thing about the little car. It shows when the headlights and taillights are on as that is demonstrated as little points of white and red light. The more useful info in that avatar the better, so have the little red lights show when your brake lights come on. Just thinkin'...

Bluecruise and lane centering worked just fine when the speed was in the middle. There was no need to move it to accommodate those things. Thank you for the feedback though.
I don't understand the pushback on this... putting the speed and speed limit next to each other makes sense.

Thinking through the dozens of cars I have owned and the hundreds I have driven as rental cars... few if any put the speed right in the center...

moving the speed a few centimeters to the right is not a black and white good vs bad decision.

They moved all the speed information into one consistent place, this makes sense from a utility and design standpoint. They also intend to give everyone blue cruise and want to give people access to important sensor data like how close they are following or if the car feels you are leaving a lane. Absolute speed is not really that important and is why it was moved. The angst around this is absolutely mindboggling and this community does not need to stoop to the literal insanity that the tesla crowed brings.

I realize not everyone has blue cruise and lots of people "don't want to use the sensor data" but this isn't a legitimate argument because it's all meant for you to drive safer, having a speedometer in the middle of the display does not help as much as effectivly displaying all avilabile driving information effectively.

They have essentially moved from a dash created by a marketing person to one of actual utility so I can understand the emotion behind the change, the person who designed it was obviously good at their job.
I use blue cruise all the time on my 22 (1.0 bluecruise) I have been thinking about this a lot. What sensor data is the car offering? Other than the green/red lines saying you Are not in the lane. Unlike tesla which is constantly giving you a visual of what is around you. even when blue cruise is activated there isn’t any useful data the screen is giving you. Personally they could get rid of the car icon and put the speed there or a ford logo for all that matter. There isn’t much relevant data that can be used in my opinion

I think the biggest issue isn’t the placement of the speedometer But the visualizations of the screen. personally the car in the middle is useless. even when blue cruise is activated you have a car that is now on a blue screen,. Maybe it’s because i am only using 1,0 bluecruise. I think with the screen being so basic and lack of data that the visualizations of unbridled for example gave the screen an interesting feel as you accelerated. It was subtle but still looked cool. Now there is a bit of a let down. it would be cool if you opened the trunk and the trunk opened On the screen or the frunk or doors to give you some information. But overall it is really blah. it went from simple and elegant to simple and a let down. Like on the F-150 they at least have the music at the bottom and even the animation of entering blue cruise is better. So this clearly shows they can make something that looks interesting even the screen is more 3D rather than just flat.

Well, I’m sure there are some nice, wintry midwestern states you could move to with lots of lane centering and blue zones ?
Paradise does have a price ?
Gas is over $5 per gallon. Our electric (all-in) rate is 51¢ per kWh, climate in upcountry is temperate, winters are brutally mild, and I have to look at the blue Pacific Ocean every single day. It’s tough I tell you.

I do not have Bluecruise on my 22 standard GT. I have always had the car in the center. People say turn off lane centering and speed would be in the center. However, I don’t see a way to fully turn it off. All I see is Alert, Aid, or Alert and Aid options. I almost never have the aid turned on (button on steering wheel toggles it) but still always had car in the center. How to fully turn it off?

That all being said the speedometer on the right doesn’t bother me that much but I agree that the center would be preferable. And even better a customizable display.

I can't agree more!!! It took more energy, time and money to move the Speed to the right. The ADS features worked fine the way they were. When the car was in the middle, I atleast knew I had one of the ADS features active. Now, it just looks like I forgot to shut something off. I liked it in the center and I liked the previous graphics as you increased the speed.

I'm hoping one of the future OTA's puts it back in the center.....(I can dream can't I?)

You can refer to post #2 and #7 (just noticed #8 has photos of the in-car setting) here: https://www.macheforum.com/site/threads/disable-mach-e-lane-centering.9259/ -- Hope this helps!
