No, I did not receive a notice that I was credited for complimentary charging when I ordered the adapter.

I read on the announcement thread that Lectron adapters ordered last year have still not shipped and we don’t know if they will even work. I’d bed Lectron is waiting to be able to do real world testing. Wouldn’t be the first time an active component was put in a cable or adapter that authenticates equipment as genuine authorized for intended use.

So in fact my Charging Bundle Balance in the Ford Pass App does show 0 kWh.

But my FordPass Rewards does show 22,000 points. Maybe those are the original points? I thought I'd used them up somehow, but maybe not.

That it will take so long to get the adapter. I didn’t realize Ford had sold that many electric vehicles. Since it is free, we can’t complain.

I don’t think it’s spoiled to wonder why they didn’t make thousands of them before announcing you could get one.

Because then they have to store thousands of them. And then ship thousands of them at once or people'll just be whining about shipping order. For something they're giving you for free.

I used to design and market cell phones for Motorola. I can assure you that when we announced a new phone, we had hundreds of thousands already made. Imagine Apple announced a new phone available for order today. When you place your order, they tell you it will be 3-4 months before you’ll actually get it. Are you going to be happy?

My argument is that their announcement was misleading. They could say “Tesla is ready to charge Ford vehicles starting today. Rollouts of the needed adapter and OTA to enable plug&charge will begin in April and continue as quickly as manufacturing will allow.”

Instead they chose to pretend like suddenly every Ford owner could use Tesla chargers with a big media splash, leaving out that most people would have to wait at least a couple months.

Worst of all, people seem to think that if you somehow criticize Ford for this, you’re some kind of terrible person. It’s no better than Tesla fanboys freaking out when anyone suggests that Tesla and Musk aren’t perfect.

Officially, Tesla and Ford do not support 3rd party adapters. But Tom Moloughney has said that the Lectron and A2Z adapters do work. His videos on this will be up soon.

Saw a couple videos showing people testing the A2Z one but no one showed what car they were using. They did not look like a Ford.

Ford vehicles are the only ones it will currently work with. Tesla hasn’t authorized other manufacturers yet.
