Solved: Speedform rear spoiler with three strips of adhesive tape - Pics added

Just received my new Speedform rear spoiler today from American Muscle, I was checking out a lot of install videos of similar rear spoilers which recommended pulling off just a few inches off the end of each of two strips . Those installs seemed straight forward with two adhesive strips.

However this spoiler has a third strip down the center. My concern for when I install is that I don’t want the red backing coming off the center getting stuck on one of the other strips during install which would be a mess. Chatted with AmericanMuscle online tonight and they had no clue.

Has anyone installed a rear spoiler like this with the third adhesive strip?

If that’s the AOSK one. I have that one. I don’t remember how many strips it came with, but took all the red stuff off before I installed it.
I put a masking tape where the edges would go. Had my son lineup one side and had the other.

Thanks… read you advice on centering ? However it is not the AOSK- but looks similar. This Speedform (link in original post) had to be different and added the middle strip- it certainly is not moving once attached

Figured out the best way was to pull the red tap cover off the middle strip further so it could come off first during installation

It helps to wipe well with alcohol to strip off all the waxes and stuff. The way you described the installation seems like best practice.

Still very secure. (Will check during the hot NC weather) On a full side pic you barely notice the spoiler as it does not extend far at all. (Don’t have a decent pic)

Crossroads Ford is where I’ve bought most of my mustangs when I lived in North Carolina. That’s where we used to meet up with the Mustang club of America not necessarily Lumberton, but Apex/Cary

Thanks! I like that this version has three tape lines for more security and it's not much more (than the AOSK version). Looks great.

That looks really good. I’m contemplating trying one that sort of mimics the ICE mustang GT, a 46 inch wide, which would be right where the gap is where the hatch opens. I can Send it back if I don’t like it.

The only issue with going with something different than what you’ve got on there is that area between the edge of the trunk to the glass, which is only about 3 inches most of those mounting brackets are about 5 inches long.

...that wing does look rather fitting.
All that needs to happen now, is to remove that dealer sticker.

Myself I’m a decal guy and my dealer sticker is my first initial and my middle name so it’s kind of my name on my car lol.
