Just got my Mach e and noticed the other night that one of the rear lights stayed on even after turning off the car. It looks like a parking light that you'd turn on if your parked in a main road.

This morning I got a notification saying that the estimated range had be adjusted because the hazard / parking lamps had been left on. Followed by a notification on the app that the 12v battery was low.

I've had a look in the manual and can't find anything about turning this light on or off.

Any ideas guys ??

Thanks for any help.

Nope definitely not the hazards. That buttons in the center next to the park assist button.

This was just a single light on the rear on one side of the car

Yep strange one. I'll see if I can recreate the issue tonight when the sun goes down.

Possibly the overflow bug in the headlight switch. Try turning the knob to OFF, then back to AUTO. Generally, it leaves all of the lights on, but maybe it’s just leaving one on. ?‍♂?

There is no "one light" that stays on, nor for that matter any lights. If the headlight switch malfunctions, the headlights and taillights are on. If one light is on, you have a short or wiring problem somewhere.

I think it’s a European safety feature. We don’t have that in the US.

Tested it tonight and didn't seem to do it.
Took the safe option though and turned the dial so the headlights are off and not on auto.

See what happens in the morning if I get another 12v battery warning.

And yes this is a UK model.

I couldn't give anything on the manual about it either.

Strange.

I've plugged the charger on and let it charge from 80 back up to 90. Not sure if that's fully charged the 12v though as I can't see any screen to see that status.

I owned a car designed for the Swiss market years ago and had that emergency left light. It had a switch to turn on and off on demand. It was the most annoying feature when people kept it on and drove around town.

In Europe, every car must be equiped with the "one-side parking light" feature, so you can leave the parking light only on one side of the car (normally, the side of the car closer to the street). I know that on VW for the european market, you activate this feature by turning off the car and then pressing the turn signal stalk on the side you want the parking light activated. My old Mercedes B-Class had that feature. So you probably pressed by mistake on the turn signal stalk after the car was turned off.

AHH nice one I'll give that a try in the morning see if that does it. If not I'm dropping into the dealer on Tuesday to get a dint removed I found.

On other cars like the BMW they seems to be a dedicated button for it near the lights buttons but can't see anything around there

I just looked through the UK owner’s manual.
Two interesting things, it has a speed limiter function. It’s pretty hand at times, I use the one in my wife’s i4 in school zones.
It also said the lights default to auto every time the car is turned on. (Not sure if ours does that.)
