You can do that with an OBDII scanner and the CarScanner app.

I use CarScanner to record trips and monitor the HVB SoH. But I have not been checking for codes. I will now. Probably weekly. It is very easy to do, but I never thought it was necessary before.
I was thinking that buying one wasn't necessary unless you want more data than you ever need. I guess I'll have to buy one now. being an data freak, I have no regrets ??

You can call your service advisor and ask them to pull up your vehicle health and ask what DTCs they are seeing. Your car reports to the cloud everyday that you drive it.
This can work in the interim to see if it's scalable, thanks!

I thought powertrain was covered for 8 years.
No not the power train the e-systems are. What exactly the e-system encompasses is anyone's guess but I would think the electrical motors are? The drives shafts may be not.
They would be available using any OBDII reader I would think...codes is codes....
If there is a code there can be a warning.

Agreed...this may have been some sort of engineering oversight to not cause a SVS for that pump condition. I can't imagine that it would have been intentional to not have that code throw a SVS.

That was me. I put a hex on your car after you passed me on the right from the slow lane, without signaling, just to be one car in front of me at the offramp.

As I suspected you do have a stalled oil pump. P0C2A code which goes back as far as I can see to Jan 23, and probably before that. So for the past 2000+ miles. A couple day ago on March 12th there was a second code P0B0D that started for a failed transmission fluid pump control module. Is that when you think the 88 MPH limit started?
Would you be able to check my VIN too? This happened to me on Friday and I chalked it up to jailbars. Ordering an OBD tool now.

This post was in the back of my mind on my commute to work this morning, but more so when I went to make a pass…floored the throttle…car topped out at 88 MPH.

Dropped it off at a dealer after work - they had no idea what I was talking about, and could not find any codes on their iPad or the service tech’s PC for my car.

They’ll put it on the full scanner tomorrow and do a 10K interval service check. Just turned 37K miles…we’ll see what happens next.

What happens next is they go break the law to recreate the issue.

Would love to hear Ford’s official response on this one.

They tell the techs to go significantly over the speed limit to test a car out. ?

The dealer found the P0C2A code. They are going to replace the oil pump. However, they do not feel as though they can or should replace the actual drive motor. How concern should I be that oil pump was stalled in the motor is not being replaced?

If I recall correctly, the unit is splash-lubricated by the fluid. The pump sends fluid through the cooler and provides additional cooling via jets to the winding.
This is probably why there's a speed limitation vs a SSN. There's probably also a temperature sensor, hence no illuminated MIL.

Not sure I understand the logic why it puts a speed limitation on the vehicle but does not inform you that the pump has failed and provides no message at all. Can not be because it is splash lubricated that it does not tell you that it has failed/not working? When the HVJB goes it also governs the speed but it tells you there is a problem and to see service soon. The pump failure from what I understand says nothing so you can drive it a 70 mph until it burns the motor out and you would never know the pump failed. Makes no sense it does not inform the driver and think it it is an oversight. It knows it has failed since it governs the vehicle so a message about it following that would be helpful.
