New FordPass app? Not sure how I feel.

For those with an Apple Watch with cellular, one big improvement is the AW app. Not only does it look and work better, it can be used without a phone. The previous FordPass you had to still have the phone nearby to use the watch functions even with a cellular AW. Now it works without the phone. PaaK still requires the phone at this time though, it's just the start/lock/unlock buttons to be clear.

Initial authenticating still requires a phone as well + it's required to switch to the new experience for the first time. But yeah, it's mostly tether free.

As a note, the watchOS app won't be as responsive as the phone due to watchOS limitations, but this guy should be a huge improvement.

Oh yeah, but I love the new watch app and at least on my AW Ultra 2, it's super responsive.

I seem to have been more fortunate when it comes to FordPass overall though, it's always worked pretty well for me, even the old AW app. Appreciate all the effort that has gone into this new one.

So are we allowed to talk about this beta now or what? Previously these threads were shut down. I already have probably said more than I should, but I haven't seen anyone mention it this time so far. There is definitely a big thing I haven't seen pictured yet, surprisingly.

Not a dedicated setting in app, but if your phone is in dark theme then the app icon, and app itself are in dark theme also.

And disclaimer this app has been out for awhile and with each release they have added features, the first release was very minimal, so I would expect it to only get better and add more features/options before general release.

Awesome! Thanks! I hope for feature parity and a public release soon. The current Fordpass app is one of my least favorite things about the Mach-E experience.

All I can say is that the people getting the release now are not Early Access users tied to an NDA. Take with that as you please.

Its people in general! I mean I can drive my car and go buy lunch without bringing keys or a wallet, and while driving I can let the car drive at 80mph while I blow my nose or turn around to yell at my kids, pretty amazing times we live in. - And a ridiculous complaint for fun, my pixel has a setting where all the icons are in grayscale, but fordpass is one of the few that doesnt do it, outrageous!!!

You should see the Lucid, Rivian, Porsche, etc forums .

Our Cyber Orange has always shown on it, we have been in the beta for months, never has it not shown the car.

Our Cyber Orange GT does NOT show up. Our Grabber Blue does though it is very annoying. Is there any fix for it?

Strange! Maybe a bug for Cyber Orange GTs? That's the only difference I see. If you have the beta up, I would report it through there as a bug. At least on iOS when I take a screenshot inside the app it gives me the option to submit the picture with a bug report.

I am not part of the beta, so I can't submit that feedback. It has been that way since we got our Mustangs in August, both are 2023s.
