Does anyone aware of this and does Ford share our driving data?

My data???

Oh no!!!

What’s next? They’ll try to show me advertising for things I may be interested in based on my demographics and behaviors?

Maybe I should pay money to a third party to protect all my data.

I prefer my ads randomized for things I probably don’t want. Bring on the adult diaper and baby food commercials!!!!

They track out data? And sell it? Like our phones, computers, internet, internet of things, cameras, FB, google, etc? I am shocked!
Thank god for the creation of VPN's and the windows firewall. I think not too many on the internet are feeding my insurance company a play by play of my driving habits.
you have already agreed to to allow @Ford Motor Company to do whatever they want with your data... read the TOS for FordPass.
Appears some think that google tracking your purchases and interests is the same as them tracking your driving and feeding that to your insurance company. We do understand what we have allow Ford to do and hope the integrity of Ford is more than what some are suggesting.

I suggest that you read the TOS for both Fordpass and connected services. Using these products enabled data capture, and implies permission to use just about all of our data any way that Ford wants to. Which includes offering it up for sale. Maybe in an aggregated manner, maybe individualized.

It may allow them to, but they have also clearly and publicly stated that they don’t.

You can’t hardly buy a taco these days without agreeing for a company to “use your data.”

Luckily the worst thing that happens is you get an email once a month for 50 cents off your next taco.

consequences of this data could be far more direct.... lets say your insurance company buys a report showing what percentage of the time your car is moving in excess of posted speed limits, and uses that information to raise your rates or drop your coverage.

At that point you would know it was Ford that gave them that information and that would be the end of your trust for Ford and for everyone else you inform. If it goes national that would be a lot of people.

Sadly, people are okay with having their data shared now a days, as long as the company gathering the info isn't from a certain country.
Some people are. Some people aren't.

I prefer to spend less time on what “could be” and more time on what “is.”

The only way insurance companies get that info is if you choose to release it to them. There are specific programs for that and you can get lower rates for it.

But if you are that worried about your insurance company finding out how you drive, you may want to slow down. ?

Na that's not going to happen ;) I will take my chances that ford will have ethics, protect owners private data and not start to single out owners by name. I know based on recent history that may not be a very good bet but I will take it anyways.
