There is a camera, there is a wire leading from it. I am aware it cannot know be used. That does not mean it could not be used in the future. 30 second into short term memory while the car is running, and an impact sending the short term memory to a recording chip.

Let's troubleshoot it. Plug it to a regular USB instead of the Dongar. Use the one that came with the dashcam. Does it record and stay on continuously?
I finally had some time to try your suggestions. Tapping in from the mirror using the Dongar, it announces recording starting and then within 30 seconds the recording stops. I then did as you suggested and plugged into the 12 volt outlet under the center console using the Viofo car charger adapter. Again it announces recording starting and then within 30 seconds the recording stops. I then decided what do I have to lose, and did a factory reset. I then used the car adapter and when it announced recording starting, it continued pass the 30 seconds and never stopped. I then hooked up the Dongar and it also worked without any issues. So I thank you for the troubleshooting suggestions, and whatever was the issue the factory reset fixed it.

Glad it wasn't too hard to fix. One of mine just had the white screen of death so I had to RMA it.
