18,000 miles and tires are worn out?! Is this normal tire wear?

Does anyone know if this is normal? Seems like new factory tires on the GTPE should last longer than 18k miles. Currently have a flat and they are telling me they are too worn to repair. They are definitely worn. Does Ford warranty cover this? I’m in San Diego. Weather typically is nice/mild with a little bit of rain now and then.
Any thoughts are appreciated.
Thanks!
I’ll take this one on… The tires you are running are soft summer tires. They are built for performance versus wear. They are also OEM tires which may offer a lower level of durability than the same tire if purchased from the tire manufacturer. This is because auto makers buy tires in quantity and often make deals that result in a lesser grade of tire. I had a conversation with a representative from a tire manufacturer when I had a set of OEM tires that lasted 21000 miles. I replaced them with the same tires. The second set lasted 38000 miles. Same driver, same climate. So… you need new tires. Be aware that some EV specific tires are filled with foam for noise reduction. Those tires can’t be repaired. Good luck.

I got 17500 miles out of mine, that was partly because they were delivered to MN in February and no one seemed to know about the fact that they weren't supposed to be used under 45 degrees! Mine cracked up terrible, don't know what they're made of but it doesn't include a lot of rubber.
it's the compound used, the p zero is purely a summer performance tire. This means the compounds are soft and don't hold up well in terms of longevity. It's a trade off. I'll be amazed if I get 10k out of mine. For the second half orders of 23, on the GT you could order all seasons in place of the p zeros. I didn't pay attention tho, and stuck with the p zeros when I ordered the car.

Tires with foam inside can absolutely be repaired and I have had it done twice. If you have a tire shop that says they cannot be repaired then they want to sell you new tires. I have had Les Schwab Tire Center, a national chain, repair my Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S tires twice and mine have foam inside.

This must be your first high horsepower car with summer tires.
Well, I owned a 2021 Mach E GT but sold it after about 6,000 miles (made 5k and upgraded to the PE… which has dropped value about 50% but I digress). I also owned a 92 Mustang LX 5.0 for 17 years. But I certainly don’t remember worn tires like this.

The MME is like 3 of those crammed on 245's (weight and power)

Your 92 5.0 barely had 200hp and torque.
Way different than almost 500hp and 600 torque.
I’ve had a 01 vet, an 06 GTO, and 2 mustangs. The summer tires lasted less than 20K miles

I forgot the 96 Camaro SS without traction control. That thing ate tires twice as fast. Annoying as shit.

P zeros are z rated tires, add that the added weight of an ev, you're going wear these tires out sooner than an AS tire like michelins.

Very heavy car + narrowish tires + car that wants to be driven like a sports car = fast tire wear. Seems about normal to me. When I had a Porsche, I had to replace the rears every 6000 miles or so.

I have over 36,000 miles on my OEM tires (Michelin Primacy 225/55R19) and still have decent treadwear remaining (5/32). Worn out tires at 18K seems abnormal. I am also in San Diego.
You have totally different tires. His tires were designed specifically to get all the torque of the GTPE to the road. They are soft, and wear fast.

I changed mine at 10K because they were worn out. The new Mitchlin all season have 10K and still look new.

The Summer tires are all the difference. Neither the GT nor the Mustang LX had Summer tires on them stock. As I posted previously, a few members went through their stock Summer tires in less than 5K miles. ?‍♂?

The speed rating has nothing to do with tread wear, only the tire’s capability to maintain a seal on the rim at high speeds. The wear is influenced heavily by the tread compound. Softer tires wear faster. I had Z speed rated tires on the T/A that didn’t wear nearly as fast as the V rated S-compound tires. ??
