Worst AutoX weather day ever.
43 degrees and rain = Summer tires get real slick.
110miles of range disappeared during the 60 mile drive to the track.
Heat was off and my speed was purposely controlled for range reasons.
I knew of a lessor known charger on site @ RA, be it only Level 2 and 10kwh, at least it was free.
I used it 3 times for a total of 2 hours charge time, and estimate I would have made it home with 10% without charging at all.
That's cutting is close for me, so the Level 2 on site saved my blood pressure from rising on this day, and luckily I was on the only EV on site.
AutoX is highly recommended regardless of car and tire. Just get out and try it, as-is. If you like it, THEN decide if upgrades are worth doing. There's no where else to learn so much about your car, than at events like this...and variable weather.
When conditions were equal (rain) in the morning, so was the competition. In the afternoon, the other guys in the same class got in 4 dry runs and their times were 3-5 seconds quicker than shown below, whereas my last 4 runs were in the rain (again).
