Ok. A few days have gone by….it sounds like people have completed the latest round of powertrain updates, and it has worked out?

I decided to wait longer since the updates don’t do a thing for me. No drive mode issues, never in 1PD, no DCFC. ?‍♂?

Also, since you have a 2023.5, do you get the newest sync and updates icons doing FDRS updates?
I do have the latest version of Sync using FDRS. But that isn't a result of the powertrain ensemble of updates.

I did a dozen updates during my recent FDRS session, and so I don't recall exactly how much time was just spent on the powertrain group. It was a multi hour session, but the powertrain modules aren't the notorious looooonnnng ones.

IPMA and IPC are 2 examples of long multi-hour updates.
APIM updates would actually be pretty quick if you only counted the time spent updating the module itself. But that USB stick creation procedure is ridiculously slow.

So go figure, that I get all set up and ready to do updates, and I am getting the following FDRS error. Anyone have an idea on how to resolve? See attached ?

Do you have a green icon, lower right hand corner, for the OBD adapter?

And do you have an empty field for the VIN? (clear that field before asking FDRS to read the VIN from the OBD port)

Yes. If the CMR or IPMA hangs for a long time in the "configuring module" process at the end, then you will have to close out FDRS and re-open it. Chances are, this will require some trouble-shooting once you connect back up. If the CMR or IPMA appear in purple, then PMI the module and select "no" when asked if it is the original module.

If all you're getting is a bunch of codes, then clear the codes and run config process with FDRS. Please note a PMI will take as long as the update process itself, so about an hour for the CMR and 3 hours for the IPMA.
Got through them without issue thankfully. Does anyone know if these have the "goodies" for BC 1.4 included in them or will there be some other update that actually activates them?

Indeed. It’s so weird. And it read my VIN through the mongoose. See attached

Since it's Sunday, it's hard to discount the possibility of FDRS errors as being a result of maintenence on Ford's end.
You might try shutting everything down, and then trying again in 30 minutes.

No issues with my 2023, have not had the 1PD fault nor the drive mode unavailable since updating.

Since FDRS did not cooperate, I decided to take the morning and make ports for the battery connects. It came out reasonable well.
