I prefer to keep the battery between 70 to 30 percent and plan trips accordingly.
This is based upon some published engineering studies to maximize battery life.
On the Lightning, when stopping at a DC fast charger, I set the one time max charge to 70%. Would like similiar functionality with the MME.
Unlike L2 charging, you probably are hanging around anyway, so you can just stop charging at a desired point. To me (and I think most others) the whole point of one-time limit is to go over the default limit.

3) Not certain the term for the Mustang logo shown on the ground by the driver/passenger doors. Do think it is way cool however.
It is a nice feature, but I wish it functioned like puddle lights on other cars.

I saw no data pertaining to the consumption of electricity by each vehicle. I assume the MME would get more miles/kwh and would be another advantage for the MME if you like paying less to move your vehicle.

Great point - my bad.
MME average for the trip - 2.7 m/kw
Est. Lightning average - 1.9 m/kw
Temperature was 45 - 55 F.
I say “Est” as it is based upon my experience at that temperature.

Assuming $0.15 per KW home rate:

MME: (160 mi)/(2.7 mi/kw)*15/kw) = $8.88

F150: (160 mi)/(1.9 mi/kw)(0.15/kw) = $12.63

Trip difference = $3.75. Less than the Starbucks coffee I stopped for along the way.

upgraded from a 2002 F150 in Oct 23. Used to get 13 mpg with that truck.

(160 mi)/(13 mpg)*(5.00/gal)=$61.50

Make this trip 8 times a month so lightning to 2002 savings = 8*(61.50 - 12.63) = $390/mo, round down to $4500 per year.

Increased insurance on a new electric eats into that by about 1500 per year, so let’s say 3k per year cheaper.

Truck cost around 80k
ROI = 3/80 = 3.75%
Better rate than I was getting on the 80k sitting in a savings account.

This does not factor in the maintenance cost of the 2002 - I would estimate that at about 2k per year (truck really liked eating brakes). If you add the 2k savings then the ROI goes to 6.25%

Agree - But I find myself watching offshore fishing YouTube videos during the charging and loose track of time. Easily distracted.

Pulled my Lightning into the garage last Friday. Charge limit is set to 85%. I set the one time limit to 55%.

Left for the weekend in our Mach-E to our daughters house. Plugged in when we got there and it went to the limit we have set to her house.

Last night after we got back to her place, it would have been nice to set the one time limit to 100% for our trip home today.

It still amazes me that the software is different between the two vehicles as they share so much hardware.

You can click Charge to 100% on both Lightning and MME.

The phone charge pad on my 21 is garbage. I’m anxiously waiting for my updated pad from the goodwill program, if ford ever ships it…
I don’t have it, but as I understand, the new pad doesn’t help for most people. The problem isn’t the rubber pad - it’s the charging unit itself. YMMV

I highly recommend the T-Wraps charger insert. Not only does it charge better without roasting the phone, it also holds the phone in place if you use a phone case with a magnetic ring (yes, also for Androids) and it can charge two phones simultaneously.

I’m not affiliated with them - I just like the product. I have one for my MME and one for my wife’s Accord hybrid.

after plugging in hit charge to 100% in the fordpass app. If you unplug and replug it will resume schedule (or if you hit resume in app)

Lightning stops DCFC charging at 90% by default (MME doesd not). On a Lightning one-time max charge limit can be applied to the next DCFC session.
It is correct the Lightning has a 90% limit from the factory but that can be changed.

When road-tripping and going from one stop to the next, the. One-time limit is also very useful to set a lower limit at whatever target you want to stop.

What if I don't want to charge to 100%?

You Mach-E only guys don't know what you're missing with the one time charge capability.

We have both. I have driven both and I prefer my Mach e because I find the seat 10x more comfortable than my wife's Lariat.

Ok, I get it. However, I don't really see the point of stopping early by setting lower limit. You can always walk up to the car, stop charging, and vacate the charger for the next guy. The only thing that I see as the result of stopping early and not unplugging, is incurring idle charges.
