You may want to place a sign in the window stating the air conditioner is running and the dog is comfortable. Otherwise, someone will report you and may try to break into the vehicle.
Thanks! I’ll do that if I have a dog in the car.
I don’t have a dog at the moment. It’s just to keep the car cool in the AZ heat

Very true, in fact in my local Nextdoor app there was a whole uproar about this. It was a Tesla tho and the screen says it very clearly (wish we had that option). This lady went crazy on the post about it, called the cops and everything. The comments were 50/50 commending vs people calling her dumb for not noticing the screen in the car. Thankfully the driver came back in time.

BUT, its kind of dumb because when my wife's Tesla or my MME is running the AC, (we live in Miami) its frigging LOUD as heck! I mean it almost sounds like a CEV when all the fans are on full tilt. It would be one thing if the car was silent and nothing happening, I might worry as well at first but seriously. Its very obvious in hot climates when these cars are on with the AC. Especially when parked.

Yours is off in that picture.

Also You can write or draw something on the sketchup app like CAR RUNNING, DOG GOOD and save it so you can pull it up quickly.

The noise you hear is the A/C compressor. If it were silent you wouldn't keep the car cool.

Not if you disable it (double honk)

It can be obnoxious!
VERY obnoxious, especially when I need to step out to grab something quick in freezing weather. Wind shuts the door I left cracked and everybody looks at me like I did something.

Ford, it’s an EV, not a polluting ICE. There’s no need to have that double honk happening when I’m literally standing right next to the car with the fob in my pocket. I can see that the car is running alright, and even if I don’t, it’ll shut off on its own if it becomes a problem.

That and the loud 7-10 “door open” alerts every time I open the door.

If I walk outside of fob range then it’s a different issue.

Can we not use the Sketch Pad for this? Or does it not stay on?

It’s going to be over 100 deg F in the Arizona desert soon. I’d like to be able to leave the A/C on while I go into a store. Cost of electricity is not a problem for me, because I use generated excess solar power (that would ordinarily go to the grid) to charge the MME at a rate of $.01/kWh.

I found I can leave the car running for 30 min and then restart it remotely for another 30 minutes when extended. Evidently the lights stay on when it is remotely started, but that’s OK. Haven’t tried to continue to restart again and again but I suspect it will work.

bring on the heat!
Even if a Pet Mode was available today, I'd probably wait about 1 year after its launch to leave my pet in the car. I don't want to be the protagonist of a horror story.

a. I used the Sketch app to post a message.
b. I worry about someone not seeing it. People don't know to look for a screen. On my old car I taped a message to the side windows. Then all I had to worry about was the dogs eating the message.

If only Ford would just make this a feature ?. It seems so simple. Competitors have had it for YEARS.
