My cars audio was perfect until this update.
Now the center channel sounds like a tin can.
I fixed it by lowering mid about two notches.
Back to normal.

Can you send a photo of your settings?

Thanks!

And related, how did you know you received an update? Do you check your version frequently? Or were you alerted?
I got an alert in the car that it was ready to install. And I do check regularly. Waiting for the damn 7.0 to drop.

I see your "Sound Mode" is set to Stereo.

My EQ and sound mode was reset after the audio update too. I didn't notice an EQ issue, but I did notice it doesn't sound as full without "Surround" selected instead of Stereo. Try that?

This is the way. I had to reconnect my phone and my sound mode got reset to stereo also.

Unless the update changed it, the center channel should be off in the stereo setting. Either way, if lowering the mids 2 notches fixed it, thats wonderful.

What’s the difference between Stereo and Surround? All the music on my phone is in stereo, so I assumed surround wouldn’t do anything.

I’m not aware of songs recorded in surround sound, especially the 60-70s music I listen to.
I found that the surround setting try’s to fake it. I’m not a big fan, I like the intended change in left/right channel variations in the song.
