Got this update yesterday. No drama or trouble. The habit of manually toggling settings that tend to be affected by the update process has been worthwhile over the years.

(My 2011 MKZ had 'real' surround sound if one put in a (now quite rare) DVD-A disk. I bought a couple just for fun. But it also had the same setting our Mach-E has, to simulate surround for two-channel signals. It works OK on both cars.)

I’m not aware of songs recorded in surround sound, especially the 60-70s music I listen to.
I found that the surround setting try’s to fake it. I’m not a big fan, I like the intended change in left/right channel variations in the song.

Many songs are recorded in surround. I love the Queen A Night at the Opera DVD in 5.1 surround it's simply incredible. That being said the source you are using and the ford system probably don't have true surround

So, I got this last night with a few surprises:

1) The car moved to the center of the IPC.
2) Navigation guidance on the IPC changed from always on to on just before the turn.

Wtf? I thought this was an audio fix?

You got the double wammy Mike. It's rare but it does happen and it's usually not wanted. You're now on 6.8 as well if the car moved.

My sync must be downloading and prepping as it's been acting all sorts of odd for the last 2 days.

So I tested it on the loaner CR1 that I'm using while the oil pump is being replaced on my GT. The sound is much fuller with all tone controls pegged than with them set to neutral and the overall volume just set higher. Mind you, this is the with standard (non-B&O) audio system, so I don't know how it compares to the B&O that you (and I) have, but still I thought it was an interesting outcome.

my EQ settings look the same, but now I have to turn the volume up higher to 25 instead of 21

My cars audio was perfect until this update.
Now the center channel sounds like a tin can.
I fixed it by lowering mid about two notches.
Back to normal.

Make it flat and use the equalization options from your music app.

Maybe leave the equalizer flat use what your music app offers? Spotify, for example, has a better equalization control than what’s available on the Mach E.

I got the AUD update today but my Nav changes in the IPC changed last week with my previous update 6.8

Haven't noticed a change after and my settings stayed as well.

No changes to settings or noticeable changes to the sound quality after receiving this update.

BTW, adjusting all the frequency bands all the way up, all the way down, or setting them all the same somewhere between extremes is not the same as just altering the level from the flat setting because of the Q of the filters. There will be response ripples between bands.

Just got this, twice.
I got the update, drove off, noticed it sounded kinda messed up and centered. Gave it the Sync Salute and got it again 1 minute after it rebooted. Applied that one and still no real difference.
