Can't wait for General Motors to make a GTO Mach-G :sunglasses:

And it sounds like a Camaro EV is right around the corner.

Smooth move, Jim.
Seriously, why isn’t this their FIRST EV project?

Whoever is running the show for the BEV market is missing the mark.

EVs have sooooo much performance potential.

And what do manufacturers do with that potential? Make 1000 hp crossovers, sedans and pick up trucks. ?‍♂?

It’s like we have a Ferrari motor and no one thinks to put it in a Ferrari.

Oh…… and don’t forget to make those 1000 hp monstrosities ugly.

Camaro, Corvette, etc. Put the big horsepower in vehicles people usually buy for performance. And make them look cool too!

I would have. ?‍♂
Every once in a while I’m reminded how many Mach E buyers like it for very different reasons.

If it wasn’t quick, I would have zero interest in this car.

I like a LOT of vehicles that I would never buy.

Nobody that knows me can believe I have an EV though. They DO know me as a motorcycle/car/truck enthusiast though. (Lots of wisecracks about not driving them enough, which is shamefully accurate)

The Mach-E wouldn't be in the barn had it not been for an impulse purchase of a very low mileage mint 2018 Nissan Leaf. It was so well cared for, barely driven for 3000 miles per year, and was available for what I thought was an amazing bargain.

I was really just curious about dipping my toes in the EV waters to see for myself what was true vs hyperbole. It was a low ri$k endeavor.

6 months into it, I had a far different point of view about living with an EV. The Leaf was a fantastic teaching tool. With the education, I found the Mach-E fit my use case and driving enthusiasts template almost perfectly. Admittedly a vehicle that was almost invisible to me for it's first 3 years was suddenly front and center. ??

I knew about most of the warts, and frankly, many/most of the vehicles I own have similar forums with the accompanying gnashing of teeth by a percentage of owners.

To quote another member, who's currently banned here, the Mach-E GTPE is a fantastic daily beater. I know how that might sound to some, but I fully understood the context that he was using. If I'm completely honest, that perception of the GTPE was the tipping point to me zeroing in on possibly acquiring one. And once I spent the necessary bandwidth, it was inevitable that I'd find a way to making it happen.

Zero regrets.
I'm having a ball driving electric.
I don't know what it should be called.
I know that I call it a Mach-E. I think because it's less controversial?

But I admit that I do enjoy the head scratching that me having an EV creates.

Sorry didn't read the article or this thread. I didn't buy it for the name just came with the car and no way I would ever buy a little useless ICE one. Call me anything but late for dinner ;).

For sure sticking with EV's for now. Just plug it in at home and fill your tank for next to nothing with green energy. You save a bit on gas if you keep them for awhile so the up front cost does have a pay back. It is nice never having to pull into a gas station to donate cash to the cause. As a commuter they are no brainers except for up front cost.

It is the instant, effortless, quite, power that is amazing. Keeping this one for now. Best highway car I have ever driven with instant effortless torque in the passing band. Just blown' up connections with the grocery wagon ? This tech has the potential to be more than a mustang.

HIstory teaches that one should, um, never use the word never in regards to future plans, but I guess it has its marketing value.

Bet $100 he somehow he addresses this interview later on to clarify wth he is even talking about.

I think this summarizes "talking out of both sides of his mouth" in a nutshell:

“We will never build a Mustang that isn’t a Mustang,” he insisted. “For instance, there will never be room for a small, two-row Ford SUV with a Mustang badge stuck on it. But could we do other Mustang body forms – a four-door or whatever? I believe we could, as long as these models have all the performance and attitude of the original.”

Wth does this even mean? A small 2 row for SUV with a mustang badge on it is not only a description of the car we all own, but is also exactly another Mustang in another body form. I mean cmon dude. Talk about confusing your brand and ACTIVE product lines. Sounds like he's trying to placate the Mustang fans out there screaming about the Mach-e, especially being most stock Mach-e's are faster off the line than 90% of the CEV Mustangs they sell. ?

He lost Rock-Paper-Scissors to Bill Ford Jr. on the naming. Still sore about it. He wanted to call it the Ford Taurus SHOe.
Now that I have owned a GTPE for a few months, had it been marketed as an electric SHO, I wouldn't have objected in the least.

In fact, I like it!

Then what would the first 'M' in 'MME' stand for?
I really wish they'd made it the Falcon Mach-E. Then I could talk about my F-ME all the time. About how my F-ME is waiting on an OTA to Fix it's ABS, HVJB, KTO, BCHF-ME etc. Every dealer wanted to slap an ADM on the F-ME OTD in 23 ya know? I was lucky to pick up a used F-ME when I did! Just before the F-ME's price cuts. I think I paid the F-ME premium for sure!
